Pleasanton, CA — August 20, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome ATA Realty Group, based in Greenville, North Carolina. The brokerage represents the 519th office to join the NextHome franchise out of 525 active office locations across the country
NextHome ATA Realty Group is poised to provide exceptional service to both residential and commercial clients across Greenville, Raleigh, and the entire Research Triangle area.
As NextHome ATA Realty Group’s Broker/Owner, Teresa Isler-Fortson offers both industry experience and a heart for real estate.
Teresa obtained her sales license in 2007 and spent the next years working with both nationally franchised brokerages and small independents. In early 2021, she formed her own independent firm Your Agent Teresa & Associates, that led six licensed real estate agents.
While growing up in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York, education was highly valued. Her parents strongly encouraged her, particularly her mother, a former educator. After graduating high school, unlike her siblings, Teresa did not go away to college or to the military, but instead she chose to enroll into a local community college in Manhattan and obtain a part-time job at a bank.
“That little part-time job proved to be one of the best decisions for me! Not long after getting my feet wet, I fell in love with Banking! I was this young kid from Brooklyn taking Manhattan by storm,” Teresa chuckled.
As she described her time spent working in the commercial real estate arena for over two decades as ‘fearless, fun and exciting’, she stated, “I soaked up the knowledge like a sponge and knew I was on to something big. I loved my job! We worked hard and played hard. It was there that I developed my leadership and coaching skills. I met a lot of great people who helped shape me into the entrepreneur that I am today.”
Teresa went on to have a fruitful banking career as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Closing Administration, supporting a very competitive New York City customer base.
While Teresa reflected on her success in New York, she quickly pointed out her proudest accomplishment was relocating to Greenville, North Carolina in 2006. When Teresa relocated, she encouraged two of her biggest supporters and best friends to come with her – her parents – James & Delsie Isler.
“I told my parents that we were moving to North Carolina and that I was going to help them to buy a house,” said Teresa.
Teresa’s parents didn’t believe it was possible for them to buy a home. In fact, she recalls her dad laughing at the thought of purchasing his first home at the age of 70.
“That really lit a fire in me! They were so deserving of having their own but didn’t think it was feasible,” said Teresa. “They quickly became my WHY and what drives me everyday to help others to reap the benefits of homeownership.”
Teresa was introduced to the NextHome franchise through a friend and colleague, MA Dudley, the owner of NextHome People First Realty.
“He said he was going to buy a franchise and I saw the whole process unfold for him,” Teresa said. “I listened to some of the conversations he had with NextHome and decided it would be a great opportunity for my firm for the short and long term.”
“I love the flexibility,” Teresa continued. “If you want to be a standalone agent with a powerful machine behind you, NextHome supports that. If you want to grow a large, thriving team, you can do that too. It seemed to offer something for everyone.”
Today, Teresa is combining her client-focused boutique style with NextHome’s industry-leading technology and unparalleled back-end support.
“We have always offered a boutique-style of service, but now I can combine that with so much more,” Teresa said. “NextHome allows me to give my agents everything they need to succeed. That level of support allows me to be a better coach and leader for my agents.”
As she grows her brokerage, Teresa is staying centered on what motivates her towards excellence, the example of her parents.
“Helping them to buy their first home is a huge part of my real estate DNA make-up,” said Teresa. “I treat all of my clients like family and it is always an honor to walk along with each client down the road to homeownership.”
Teresa’s parents, sadly, passed away in 2020 & 2021, however, she carries their legacy of hard work forward in her own family. Although Teresa isn’t able to share this next chapter of owning a real estate franchise at NextHome with her parents, she has no doubt that they are rejoicing with her.
Teresa is married to Vincent and together they are the parents of three adult children, Shaneka, Tavon and Kayla. Tavon obtained his real estate license at age 21 and has worked alongside his mother ever since.
When she isn’t working, Teresa enjoys watching movies with her family and gardening.
Please join us in congratulating Teresa and the entire team at NextHome ATA Realty Group on the opening of their office in Greenville, North Carolina!
