Pleasanton, CA — July 18, 2018 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Leeward & Company. The brokerage represents the fourth location opened in the state of Missouri for the NextHome franchise. The company will cover areas in both Missouri and Kansas.
The office will be owned and operated by top-producing REALTORS® Matthew Gilbert and Aaron Turnage. Matthew will serve as the broker of record for the brokerage.
Based out of Lee’s Summit, NextHome Leeward & Company will provide real estate services to buyers and sellers such as single-family residential sales, first-time home buyers, investment, multi-family properties, foreclosure properties, and condominiums for the areas in Missouri such as Lee’s Summit and Independence, as well as areas in Kansas such as Overland Park, Mission, and the remainder of the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Lee’s Summit is located 25 minutes southeast of Kansas City, Missouri and is home to approximately 100,000 residents. In 2006, CNN Money Magazine named the city of Lee’s Summit as one of the “100 Best Cities to Live in The United States.”
Both Matthew and Aaron started their real estate careers in 2015. They met while attending the same real estate school, Career Education Systems.
After getting their licenses, they kept in touch even though they worked at different brokerages in Lee’s Summit. Matthew started with a local company, Chartwell Real Estate, while Aaron started with Keller Williams Platinum Partners.
In his first year, Matthew sold more than 20 properties. Aaron did equally well, selling more than 20 sides in his first 18 months.
In 2017, both Matthew and Aaron saw an opportunity to provide a different value to the real estate community. Knowing he wanted to open his own brokerage from the moment he got his license, Matthew has always been focused on starting his own company.
It was perfect timing for Aaron as well. Knowing he wanted to take the next step in his career, his military background brought him back into wanting to be in the role of servant leadership.
Matthew found NextHome while researching real estate franchises. While he found the company eye-catching and the tech being one of the best he’s seen, it was a simple coincidence that sealed the deal.
“I loved the look and feel NextHome would provide to our market,” said Matthew. “But it was finding out more about the mascot that took it over the edge.”
“When I found out the mascot’s name was Luke, it sealed the deal,” Matthew says with a laugh. “My son was born just a few months before I found NextHome. You guessed it… his name is Luke.”
Since launching NextHome Leeward & Company in May 2018, the results have been phenomenal. Sign calls on Aaron and Matthew’s properties have skyrocketed – with nearly three times more calls and inquiries on their listings.
The company’s focus is to add ten talented agents in the next 12 months.
The Kansas City market has been one of the hottest markets in the United States. With an average home selling under $300,000, the area has some of the more affordable property options of any major metro market in the nation.
Over the next 18 months, Matthew and Aaron want to focus on getting more involved in the community and volunteering time and resources to give back to the residents they serve.
When not selling real estate, Matthew and his wife of five years, Rebecca, have a son, one-year-old Luke. Matthew is a 2009 graduate of the University of Central Missouri. The couple loves taking Luke outdoors and is already taking him to the pool.
Aaron and his wife, Cindy, have two sons and two grandchildren – Callie (age 7) and Connor (5). From 1992-1998, Aaron was in the Marine Corp. As a proud military veteran, he worked in many different capacities for the Marines including recruiter and desert training with other Marines. The couple loves to travel and find Key West Florida to be their favorite destination.
