Pleasanton, CA— May 18, 2017 NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Champions. The new brokerage is the 5th NextHome franchise location opened in the state of Michigan.

Based out of the city of Holland, NextHome Champions will be owned and operated by Tom Smolinski. The brokerage will service the cities of Holland, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Saugatuck, and the Southwest Michigan area.

Located 20 minutes southwest of Grand Rapids, Holland is home to nearly 35,000 residents. The city of Holland is the host of the world-renowned annual Tulip Festival which brings over 100,000 visitors to the area from all around the globe.

After many years in his career of engineering, Smolinski was looking for an opportunity that was a better fit for him. At the suggestion of his former co-workers, Smolinski entered the real estate industry in 2005.

“At that time, several of my engineer friends had recently sold their homes,” recalls Smolinski. “They were really unhappy with how they were represented and suggested there was an opportunity for me to come into real estate and provide real estate service that was lacking in our local market.”

With his commitment to world-class service and his attention to detail, Smolinski steadily built his business to the tune of more than 100 transactions annually.

Smolinski has been ranked as one of the top producing agents in his local market for several years. He ranks as one of the top 10 REALTORS® out of 1,000+ agents in his local Multiple Listing Service (MLS).

After years of selling real estate under a real estate broker, Smolinski started his own company – Epsilon Resources, which focused on local needs of homeowners who were facing foreclosure.

“Our community was one of the hardest hit in the entire nation when the recession happened,” said Smolinski. “I wanted to provide a service to help homeowners facing foreclosure. By providing options including short sales and relocation assistance, our company became known for reaching out and helping our neighbors.”

In early 2017, Smolinski wanted to add a higher level of technology to his brokerage business services.

“I found NextHome through a simple Google search,” said Smolinski. “The three things that stood out to me was the commitment to technology, the ability to allow me to run my brokerage in a formatted, yet flexible way, and the tools provided to my agents.”

“NextHome has been the perfect addition to my business,” added Smolinski.

In addition to his commitment to the real estate industry, Smolinski dedicates time to volunteering for the less fortunate.

He is on the Board of Directors for Pathways – a human services organization which provides services such as counseling for addictions and help with adoptions.

Smolinski also volunteers time at the school association for Zeeland Quest – a school where his eight-year-old daughter Abby is a student.

When not selling real estate, Smolinski spends time with family. He says his “number one priority is being the best husband to his wife of 16 years, Lori, and the very best father he can be” to Abby.
