The bi-lingual Spanish/English brokerage joins the growing NextHome franchise that currently has 601 active office locations across the country.
Located near the white sand beaches of Florida’s stunning Treasure Coast, NextHome Exclusive Real Estate serves clients throughout Indian River, Brevard, and Saint Lucie counties. The brokerage specializes in all types of residential real estate including development, new builds, multi-family, condos, first-time home buying, investments, second homes, and luxury.
NextHome Exclusive Real Estate is owned by Desiree McCluskey, a widely credentialed REALTOR® with a 20-year reputation for real estate excellence. Desiree’s son, Dallas McCluskey, will be joining the brokerage as a client-centered real estate associate.
A native of Puerto Rico, Desiree obtained her real estate license in 2003. After working for several years with a large, national brand, Desiree pursued other opportunities after the 2007 housing market crash.
However, her love of real estate remained strong. In 2016, Desiree again embraced full-time real estate sales. Her dedication to learning and growing led Desiree to earn many professional accreditations and licenses including her mortgage brokers license, appraiser trainee license, and her title agency license.
“Each of these licenses became a great tool for me to be a knowledgeable resource for my clients in various aspects of real estate,” Desiree said. “I’ve pretty much done a little bit of everything.”
Desiree’s expertise earned her the respect of local buyers and sellers, and she became a sought-after name in real estate. While working with both nationally franchised brands, and regional independent firms, Desiree was frequently recognized as a top producer. Her sales volume topped $10 million in a market where average home prices hover around $500-$900,000.
In 2022, Desiree obtained her broker’s license and began thinking about the next step on her professional path. After years of experience working with many of the industry’s biggest franchise names, Desiree knew exactly what she wanted, and what she didn’t want, in her ideal brokerage.
She began thinking about opening her own independent brokerage, but then found an article about NextHome in a real estate magazine.
“I really liked the message,” Desiree said. “The humans over houses mindset was how I wanted to operate my business. After reaching out to NextHome, everything fell together beautifully. This franchise just felt like a natural fit. Putting everything together, it felt like NextHome really had all the tools in place to create that kind of brokerage that I want to own.”

Desiree has a passion for serving people around her. She is a supporter of the Indian River Lagoon Project, an initiative that aims to preserve the bio-diverse Indian River ecosystem. She is also a strong supporter of the Diabetes Foundation, in addition to Canine Companions, NextHome’s national charity partner.
Desiree and her husband, Kevin, are the proud parents of two grown children: Dallas and Savannah. The close-knit family loves to take vacations together and are always helping each other and supporting each other.
