The NextHome franchise continues expansion in Arkansas

The NextHome franchise continues expansion in Arkansas

Chance Schubert & Patrick Kuhlman

Pleasanton, CA — July 16, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome NWA Pro Realty. The new brokerage represents the second NextHome franchised office opened in the state of Arkansas.

NextHome NWA Pro Realty will be led by broker/owner Chance Schubert who will handle all day-to-day aspects of the company including mentoring, training, and brokerage growth. He will be joined on the leadership team by his business partner, Patrick Kuhlman. Partick will serve as the Team Leader of their real estate sales team. Having known each other for more than 12 years, Chance and Patrick have made a dynamic team and have been top-producing REALTORS® for several years.

Additionally, Mary Taylor will hold the role of “Chief Everything Officer” and will handle all financials and compliance issues for the office.

Based out of Bentonville, the agents of NextHome NWA Pro Realty will service all real estate needs in Northwest Arkansas including Rogers, Centerton, Bella Vista, Springdale, and Fayetteville.

The brokerage will help residents in the local communities with various real estate services such as first-time homebuyers, investors, military veterans, commercial, condos, new construction, and all forms of seller representation.

Bentonville is home to more than 50,000 residents and is known for being the birthplace of Walmart in 1962. It’s located 3.5 hours northwest of Little Rock and is the ninth-largest city in the state.

Before real estate, both Chance and Patrick came from a background in the hospitality industry. Chance was introduced to real estate and got his license in 2012 after helping Patrick’s mother look at homes she wanted to buy. The agent that was helping Patrick’s mother noticed Chance’s keen eye towards real estate and suggested that he look into becoming a REALTOR®.

“After working for a while in the hotel industry, my introduction to real estate as a career came at a welcome time,” said Chance. “Patrick and I were in hospitality and both of us were getting burned out. I made the leap into real estate in 2012, and Patrick joined a year later.”

Chance started with a local franchised brokerage, and in just his second year, he sold more than $3 million in volume – quite a feat considering the average sales price was $140,000 at the time.

After Patrick joined the real estate world and formed a team with Chance in 2013, he brought a completely different niche to the team. By adding new construction builders and foreclosure investors to the mix, he expanded their business to new heights.

In 2014, the team did more than $10 million in volume and has continued growing year-over-year.

In 2018, the six-member team sold more than 130 transactions to the tune of $28.5 million in volume, making them one of the top selling teams in the entire Northwest Arkansas area.

In mid-2018, Chance and Patrick started looking at their expenses and investments of their real estate business and realized they were basically running a small brokerage within their brokerage.

“The way we were running our team was like running our own real estate company,” recalled Chance. “At that point, we started looking at opening our own brokerage, and that’s when we found NextHome.”

“There are 113 real estate offices in our county,” said Patrick. “We needed to stand out with our marketing, brand consistency, and making a real impact in what we could offer our clients. As NextHome NWA Pro Realty, we have definitely achieved that.”

Chance says what makes NextHome NWA Pro Realty different is the consistency of service, the level of professionalism that a client will receive, and that all demographics will be treated fairly and with respect.

“Whether you are buying a $20,000 lot or a million-dollar mansion, our team is ready to serve the needs of our clients and treat them with the respect and professionalism they deserve,” said Chance.

Please join us in congratulating Chance, Patrick, Mary, and the rest of the team at NextHome NWA Pro Realty on the opening of their brand new NextHome brokerage in Bentonville, AR!

NextHome Gadwood Group opens third office location

NextHome Gadwood Group opens third office location

Julie Gadwood

Pleasanton, CA — July 11, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Gadwood Group – Overland Park Branch. The brokerage represents the eighth office location opened in the state of Kansas for the NextHome franchise.

The new Overland Park location will be led by broker/owner Julie Gadwood who will handle all day-to-day operations for the company.

This branch will be the third office location opened by NextHome Gadwood Group, with two office locations already thriving in Shawnee, Kansas and Gravois Mills, Missouri. The opening of the NextHome Gadwood Group in Overland Park will introduce the superior agents of the company to residents of Overland Park, De Soto, Gardner, Leawood, Lenexa, Merriam, Olathe, Prairie Village, Shawnee, and the remainder of Johnson County.

NextHome Gadwood Group agents will provide assistance to buyers and sellers with residential property sales such as first-time home buyers, investors, farms, ranches and land, military and veteran’s assistance, relocation, foreclosures, short sales, and all forms of residential sales of 1-4 units.

Located just 10 miles south of Kansas City, Overland Park is the second most populated city in the state of Kansas with nearly 200,000 residents.

With the growth of business by NextHome Gadwood Group, Julie felt it was the right time to open another location.

“We do a lot of business on the south side of Johnson County,” said Julie. “The Shawnee office grew so quickly that we needed some additional space and having an office in Overland Park was a natural move.”

“This office will give all agents a great place to meet with clients and is going to give us some presence in that area,” she added. “My concept is that it is just another resource to help my agents achieve success. Agents can use both office spaces to meet clients and use as a work area. We haven’t even officially opened the doors yet and have already had some very seasoned and successful agents join us.”

Licensed since 2005, Julie started her real estate career with Coldwell Banker Regan in Shawnee where she worked for six years. She originally intended real estate to be an extra source of income, but after selling five homes in her first six months in the business, Julie realized she had the ability to turn real estate into a viable career.

While she grew her real estate business to see nearly $8 million in sales annually, the most important thing for Julie was that she was able to still spend quality time with her children and not miss any of the important events in their lives.

In 2012, Julie went out on her own and opened Gadwood Group Realty Company Inc.

“I started my own brokerage because I wanted to have a platform and a business that allowed me to put the total focus on the client,” said Julie. “By owning my own company, I was able to have a high level of service and know that our clients would be really taken care of.”

Julie was able to grow the brokerage to over 20 agents and saw the company do more than 125 transactions and over $40 million in a single year.

Additionally, Julie was recently recognized for the tenth year in a row as a 5 Star Award nominee for her outstanding real estate service in her community.

After several successful years as an independent brokerage, it was a random stroke of luck that Julie found NextHome.

“I found out about the franchise during a real estate conference that I attended,” recalled Julie. “Over the years, there were several different franchises we talked to, but none of them really piqued my interest. After years of studying what NextHome was doing and after speaking with (NextHome’s VP of Sales) Charis Moreno, I felt that it was the right time to align my brokerage with NextHome.”

Julie and her agents are excited about the freshness of the company, the consistent branding, and the entire suite of tools and services they now have at NextHome Gadwood Group.

In addition to selling real estate, Julie and her team volunteer time to bettering the real estate industry and providing hope in their community.

As a member of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® (KCRAR), Julie has actively participated in Habitat for Humanity, where she and her agents have helped rehabilitate homes in her community for those in need.

In 2018, the Gadwood Group were the recipients of the Spirit Award by KCRAR for their service in the community.

The company has also volunteered in the local coat drive and the local Ronald McDonald House organization.

When not selling real estate, Julie and her husband of 27 years (and high school sweetheart) David love to spend time with their three children.

Their eldest, Jake (25), is a graduate of Kansas State University with a focus on Finance Economics. Nick (22) is currently a student at the University of Kansas and is not only an Accounting major but a licensed real estate agent as well. Their youngest, Carney (19), is a sophomore at the University of Kansas and is majoring in Business.

Please join us in congratulating Julie and the rest of the team at NextHome Gadwood Group on their new NextHome office in Overland Park, KS!

David Perkins

Pleasanton, CA — July 3, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Perkins Realty Group. The new brokerage represents the 26th NextHome franchised office opened in the state of Texas.

NextHome Perkins Realty Group will be led by broker/owner David Perkins. He will handle all day-to-day aspects of the company including mentoring, training, and brokerage growth.

Based out of Longview, the agents of NextHome Perkins Realty Group will handle real estate in the cities of Longview, Kilgore, Hallsville, Diana, Gilmer, and the remainder of Gregg and Upshur Counties.

The brokerage will be helping residents in the local community with various real estate services such as first-time homebuyers, investors, ranches and land, commercial, condos, retirement communities, and all forms of seller representation.

Longview is located about two hours east of Dallas and is home to approximately 85,000 residents. Longview is also known as the home of the Great Texas Balloon Race. Many of the pilots that compete at the Great Texas Balloon Race consider it the best run event on the circuit. The Great Texas Balloon Race dubbed Longview as “The Balloon Capital of Texas” by the Governor of Texas in 1985.

Licensed since 2016, David started his real estate career right out of college. As a graduate of LeTourneau University, his original plan was to go to dental school but was asked by a friend’s mother if he had any interest in real estate. Curiosity struck as David researched all-things real estate, and the rest was history.

David started with a local independent brokerage and in his very first year, he sold more than $2 million in real estate. Building on top of this foundation, David exceeded more than $3 million a year in sales in a market where the average sales price is $187,000.

David credits his success to his commitment to building strong business and personal relationships.

“I played baseball in college, so I have always been active in sports,” said David. “Since graduating, I have stayed active playing tennis and softball. I’ve been able to leverage these events to make friends and business contacts that have really helped me build my real estate business.”

David stays committed to having a genuine interest in helping clients get the very best price from their home and negotiate the very best purchase price when they buy.

In 2017, David started thinking about going out on his own and opening a brokerage, but he knew he didn’t want to do it alone.

“I thought about franchising, but wasn’t thrilled with the options out there,” said David. “Once I found out about NextHome, I loved what I saw and really felt that franchising with NextHome could help me open and run a successful brokerage.”

“The technology we have now at NextHome Perkins Realty Group is unlike anything that is being offered in our market,” added David.

In 2018, David made the leap with the support and encouragement from his sister, Laura. In fact, Laura will be assisting the brokerage with marketing and helping provide listing exposure for sellers.

Outside of work, David enjoys traveling, skiing, visiting Las Vegas, and hanging out with his dog, Summer.

Please join us in congratulating David and the rest of the team at NextHome Perkins Realty Group on the opening of their brand new NextHome brokerage in Longview, TX!

The NextHome franchise continues expansion in Iowa

The NextHome franchise continues expansion in Iowa

Travis Hiatt

Pleasanton, CA — June 13, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Beyond. The new brokerage represents the fourth NextHome franchised location opened in the state of Iowa.

The company will be owned and operated by top producing REALTOR® Travis Hiatt. Based out of North Liberty, the brokerage will provide real estate services throughout both the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City metropolitan areas. Additionally, NextHome Beyond will serve the residents of Johnson, Cedar, Iowa, Linn, Jones, Louisa, and Washington counties.

North Liberty is directly north of Iowa City and is home to approximately 20,000 residents. Over the past 19 years, North Liberty has been known as the second fastest-growing city in the state of Iowa.

The brokerage will provide various real estate services such as working with first-time homebuyers, investment properties, new construction, ranches and farms, and land lots and parcels.

Travis bought his first house while attending college at the young age of 19. This early entry into real estate inspired him to help others buy and sell homes right after college.

In 2003, he started his career at Skogman Realty in Cedar Rapids. He spent his first years in the business gaining trust with clients using all the traditional methods of real estate – knocking doors, handing out flyers and business cards, and attending community events. While these methods may have seemed simple, they were very effective in helping Travis establish himself in the local market.

In his second year, Travis sold nearly $4 million in volume – a huge accomplishment for a young agent.

In 2007, he made the move to Ruhl & Ruhl Realtors. Working there for nearly ten years, Travis built a business in both the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City markets. In 2011, the owner of the company asked Travis to step in and manage a new office that was expanding into Cedar Rapids.

Two years later, he became the manager for the Coralville office location and led that office for the next five years.

While managing the brokerage, Travis attended the Iowa Association of REALTORS® Convention in 2015 and had a chance to meet NextHome’s Vice President, Imran Poladi, who was the keynote speaker for the event.

“I started researching the company and thinking about how I wanted to one day open my own brokerage,” said Travis. “What NextHome had to offer made me really excited about the possibilities.”

While he ended up leaving Ruhl & Ruhl Realtors, Travis held off opening his own company. He worked at Keller Williams in Cedar Rapids – first as a Team Leader and then as the General Manager for the company. With more than 100 agents at the brokerage, Travis and the leadership team worked hard to make the company one of the top real estate brokerages in the area.

In 2018, after nearly seven years in management, Travis was finally ready to go out on his own. He knew exactly who he wanted to partner with.

“I knew that when it was my time to go out on my own, I wanted to franchise with NextHome,” said Travis.

Travis says that the NextHome Beyond difference is exactly what the company name describes.

“I wanted to name my company NextHome Beyond because I want our company to provide a level of service above and beyond what the client is expecting, as well as providing support and real estate services beyond the buying or selling period,” said Travis.

Travis has a passion for teaching and is a certified Dotloop trainer, helping agents with online transaction management systems and tools.

Outside of work, Travis loves spending time with his nine-year-old daughter, Emersyn. Travis is a huge Chicago Cubs fan and does everything he can to catch a Cubbie game at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Please join us in congratulating Travis and the rest of the team at NextHome Beyond on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in North Liberty, IA!

NextHome Neighbors opens their new office in Texas

NextHome Neighbors opens their new office in Texas

Gonzalo & Amy Egana

Pleasanton, CA — June 12, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Neighbors. With the opening of the new brokerage, the NextHome franchise launches the 25th franchised location in the state of Texas.

The company will be owned and operated by top-producing REALTORS®, and husband and wife team, Gonzalo and Amy Egana. Gonzalo will serve as the broker of record and handle the day to day operations of the company. Amy will be in charge of the company’s marketing, listing inventory, and social media outreach.

The brokerage will provide real estate services throughout the cities of Tyler, Flint, Bullard, Whitehouse, Chandler, Lindale and the remainder of Smith, Cherokee, Henderson, and Wood counties.

Known as the “Rose Capital of the World,” Tyler is located 90 minutes east of Dallas and is home to more than 100,000 residents. The area has a long history of rose production and boasts the largest rose garden in the country.

The brokerage will provide various real estate services such as working with first-time homebuyers, investment properties, relocation, ranches and farms, and land lots and parcels.

The couple has been married for 16 years, and have been business partners since 2012. Their professional backgrounds previous to real estate have served them perfectly.

In 2005, the Eganas began investing in real estate and flipping houses. They had a fondness for buying and selling homes, and upon the suggestion of his father-in-law, Gonzalo took the leap and got into the real estate sales side of the business.

Gonzalo first attained his real estate license in 2007 after a very successful sales career. As the owner of a kitchenware manufacturing business, he was most known for his creation of what many feel is the best manual juicer in existence – the OrangeX Juicer.

During the time that Gonzalo started working in real estate, Amy had a very successful business herself as the owner of Joy Creative Consulting, a marketing consulting firm.

From 2007-2014, Gonzalo worked at RE/MAX in Tyler. During his years at the brokerage, he worked his way up to becoming one of the top five agents in the entire 60+ agent office. As the business grew, Gonzalo saw how Amy could bring a lot of value to the business. With her exceptional marketing skills and eye for detail, she got her real estate license in 2012. With their youngest child going into kindergarten that year, it was perfect timing for the Eganas to partner in real estate.

In 2015, they made a move to a smaller brokerage, WP & Company.

“We really liked being a part of a smaller office with a culture of having that family feeling,” said Amy.

In 2018, the couple sold more than $15 million in volume. An incredibly impressive number with the average home sale at $250,000.

With more than 10 years in the real estate business, they felt it was time to go out on their own and open a brokerage. In 2018, they turned to a real estate friend and learned about NextHome.

“We connected with Ben Andrews through Brian Buffini Coaching” said Gonzalo. “As the owner of a NextHome franchised location, he told us a lot about the positive benefits when he converted his brokerage to NextHome. The more we saw, the more we liked.”

“The branding and signage was unique and different,” added Amy. “Having that brand consistency meant a lot to me and spoke to a higher standard of marketing that often goes missing in today’s real estate.”

Gonzalo and Amy are proud to say that NextHome Neighbors will stand out from other local brokerages by focusing on building a company with career-oriented agents who not only want to grow professionally, but personally as well.

“In my experience, most brands develop a story that makes them the hero,” said Amy. “Companies that truly succeed make the customers the hero. We want to be that kind of company.”

The Eganas have three children – Isabella (age 14), Alex (13), and Sophia (10).

Please join us in congratulating Gonzalo, Amy, and the rest of the team at NextHome Neighbors on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in Tyler, TX!

NextHome HomeFront opens in Mississippi

NextHome HomeFront opens in Mississippi

Crystal Boggs & Bobby Wantland

Pleasanton, CA — June 7, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome HomeFront. The new brokerage is the fourth NextHome franchise location opened in the state of Mississippi.

NextHome HomeFront will be owned and operated by top-producing REALTOR® Crystal Boggs. The brokerage will service the cities of Ocean Springs, Biloxi, Gulfport, D’Iberville, and the remainder of Jackson and Harrison Counties.

The brokerage will provide various real estate services for the local community such as working with first-time homebuyers, investment properties, vacation and second homes, multi-family properties, land and lots, and military family relocation. Crystal says more than half of NextHome HomeFront’s business involves military housing.

Crystal will have another top-producing REALTOR® serve as the company’s broker of record. Bobby Wantland brings years of experience to NextHome HomeFront and Crystal is happy to be in business with him.

“Bobby brings a lot of experience and I really love how he builds relationships with people,” said Crystal. “He’s been like a big brother to me and I am so happy to have him be a part of this journey.”

“I never thought I would want to work in a partnership format,” said Bobby with a laugh. “But I couldn’t pass up a chance of working with Crystal. She has a great heart, she is always wanting to grow personally and professionally, she is totally selfless… why wouldn’t I want to be in business with her?”

After selling off her very successful party rental business, Biloxi Bounce House, which did more than 1,000 rentals annually, Crystal decided to go into real estate. Her interest in becoming a real estate agent sparked from the positive experience that she and her husband, Bryan, had with their REALTOR® – Bobby.

Crystal first became licensed in real estate in 2016 and started with Keller Williams Realty.

While she spent most of the first year learning the marketing and prospecting side of real estate, that paid off just a few months into her second year in the business. Within the last three months of 2017, she sold over $1 million in real estate – an incredible number considering the local average home sales price at that time was just under $140,000.

Crystal made the move to a local NextHome franchised office where Bobby was working. That move paid off and in 2018, she sold 24 homes with more than $5 million in total sales volume.

In late 2018, Crystal felt it was the right time to open her own brokerage. As the previous owner of a successful business prior to real estate, her experience and track record gave her the confidence to open NextHome HomeFront.

“NextHome HomeFront will be a boutique brokerage company where the agents will be treated like family,” said Crystal. “That will allow them to connect with the ownership/leadership team and know they will be heard and treated with respect.”

In 2019, Crystal was honored with one of the most esteemed awards a military spouse can receive – Armed Forces Insurance Keesler Military Spouse of The Year.

The Boggs’ have been married for 17 years and are the proud parents of Mecquela (age 15) and Bryanna (13). The family enjoys all types of outdoor activities including four-wheeling, fishing, and crabbing. They also love to travel and visited Germany, England, and France last year.

Please join us in congratulating Crystal, Bobby, and the rest of the team at NextHome HomeFront on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in Ocean Springs, MS!

NextHome opens first franchised office in Alaska

NextHome opens first franchised office in Alaska

Kirk Maynard

Pleasanton, CA — May 14, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Arctic Sun. The new brokerage represents the first office location in the state of Alaska by the NextHome franchise. The Fairbanks-based brokerage will be owned and operated by Kirk Maynard and his wife, Lisa. As a second-generation REALTOR®, Kirk brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the NextHome franchise.

The agents at NextHome Arctic Sun will focus on selling homes throughout the northern Alaska region including the cities of Fairbanks, Fort Greely, Salcha, Nenana, Denali, and Healy.

NextHome Arctic Sun will provide real estate services such as first-time buyer, investor, rehab & resale, military, traditional single-family sales, and commercial.

Born and raised in Alaska, Kirk first became licensed in 2004. Starting his first year at the local Century 21 office, he attained his broker’s license shortly after. In 2006, he moved to a Coldwell Banker franchise, and in 2007, he bought the Coldwell Banker Gold Country brokerage.

At the time of his purchase, the office had three agents. Over the course of the next 10 years, not only did Kirk grow his personal business to more than 60 transactions annually, but the brokerage agent count grew as well. With more than 25 agents at the company, Kirk’s company grew incredible market share due to the agents’ hands-on personalized approach to working with clients and providing them world-class service.

After more than 10 years with the Coldwell Banker franchise, Kirk knew it was time to look at increasing value for the agents and their clients.

“I really liked the NextHome difference,” said Kirk. “The clean and modern feel was something that our brokerage was missing. On top of that, we now have top-level technology, connectivity with a progressive corporate team, and a connection with brokers all over the country. We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of NextHome.”

Committed to giving back, Kirk has served the real estate community for more than a decade. He has been a member of the Greater Fairbanks Board of REALTORS® (GFBR) for 15 years and served on the Board as a Director for five of those years. He was elected 2009 GFBR President and currently serves on both the Alaska Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) State Board and the 2019 GFBR Education Committee.

“From the moment I spoke with Kirk and Lisa, I felt like we’ve known each other for years,” said NextHome’s Vice President of Sales Charis Moreno. “Having them be the first to bring the NextHome franchise to Alaska is very exciting. Their market has not seen a new real estate franchise brand in a long time. Bringing a fresh, unique spin to local Alaska real estate, NextHome Arctic Sun is perfectly positioned to bring a new look and feel throughout Alaska.”

Outside of selling real estate, the Maynards focus on family. They have three children – son Colby (20) and daughters Chloe (16) and CeCe (13). Living in Alaska, the family enjoys all that the state has to offer such as fishing and snow activities.

Please join us in congratulating Kirk, Lisa, and the rest of the team at NextHome Arctic Sun on the opening of their NextHome office in Fairbanks, AK!

Zillow Group: Friend or Foe?

Zillow Group: Friend or Foe?

When it comes to Zillow Group, there seems to be a lot of fear and anger in our industry and it has been this way since the company launched in 2004. I experienced this first hand while working on the portal side of the business, starting with Realtor.com in 2003 and leaving Trulia in 2014. What I learned during these years has provided me insight into what the consumer needs and demands, as well as the fears of real estate professionals across the country.

Fear in business can be dangerous and detrimental. Some of us pull old quotes from Zillow executives and use them today to justify our concerns. Have we never changed course in our business or personal lives? Is it wrong for Zillow to shift direction? If the plan is not working, then perhaps the plan should change but not the goal.

One thing is certain: Zillow has never been shy about their goal of giving power to the people when it comes to making the best decision on the single greatest investment of their life. It’s not as complicated as we have made it over the last several decades. Instead of seeing them as a threat, why not look at Zillow Group as a way to learn and adopt what is working?

Yes, you could ignore them or pull your data as a way to fight against them. The reality is Zillow Group has captured over two-thirds of the total market share of online real estate shoppers and has more than double the audience of Realtor.com, the official site of the National Association of REALTORS®. We used to pay at least five times more for this kind of reach in print advertising without any guarantees readers would even flip to the real estate section. And don’t even get me started on TV or Super Bowl commercials.

NextHome’s leadership team understands that change is inevitable, but transformation is optional. And we choose transformation.

We are focused on transforming the franchise model into something fun and desirable; our franchise owners and their offices into a profitable and enticing place to work; and our agents into the most valuable part of the transaction, so there are no objections at closing time when the commission is paid.

We are also focused on transforming our relationship with industry partners, such as Zillow Group, so our agents and franchise owners are one of the first to be called upon when our partners want to try something new.

Especially if it means we can hold Zillow accountable for providing a service that will need to be successful if they want to get paid. And why shouldn’t they? After all, they are consuming all the financial risk to position themselves as the most visited real estate site in the world. How is it any different than hiring Cartus or paying another broker for a referral, except in this case the referring company is Zillow?

Is this a risky move? Of course! But it becomes a shared risk and without risk, there would be no progress. And without progress, we will not transform into the best version of ourselves.

The NextHome Franchise announces 200th Franchised Location

The NextHome Franchise announces 200th Franchised Location

Pleasanton, CA— August 9, 2017—Real estate franchisor NextHome proudly announces the opening of their 200th office location – Palm Harbor, Florida.

The company’s growth has been unlike anything seen in the real estate industry. NextHome began franchising in January of 2015 and since launching, the company has expanded nationally into 41 states.

“To be able to grow our company from zero to 200 offices in less than 30 months has been an incredible ride,” said NextHome’s Chief Executive Officer, James Dwiggins. “It has been a humbling journey and still having the family feel while building a national network of NextHome agents and brokers has been inspiring.”

“We are looking forward to what the next 30 months has in store for our company,” added Dwiggins.

Key to the expansion has been the work of the sales team, led by NextHome’s Vice President of Sales, Charis Moreno.

“I’m excited about our company’s expansion and how quickly we have grown,” said Moreno. “But what truly impresses me is the quality of the NextHome agents and brokers that have become a part of our company. The best companies are driven by the quality of the people in it.”

Based in Pleasanton, California, NextHome’s headquarters features nearly 20 staff members dedicated to serving more than 1,600 NextHome members nationally. The team, led by NextHome’s Chief Operating Officer, Tei Baishiki, handles more than 8,500 member services inquiries per month.

With NextHome’s highly automated Intranet system, the Member Services team can focus on highly personalized, first-class interactivity with members who are in need of real estate assistance.

New additions to NextHome’s technology platform has substantially increased broker interest in franchising with the company. NextHome’s Chief Strategy Officer, Keith Robinson, focuses on identifying and implementing new products to the NextHome suite of tools. These tools include the integration and connectivity of real estate technology products such as: SmartZip, Ylopo, BombBomb, RealScout, Homespotter, and Spacio.

Once these programs have been added to the franchise’s platform, members are shown the benefits of NextHome services through various live in-person trainings, as well as online webinars. These courses, taught by NextHome’s Franchise Development Director, Mackenzie Baishiki, allow a flexible, yet interactive experience that caters to today’s REALTOR®.

With NextHome’s goal of having offices in all 50 states by mid-2018, the company looks to grow not only in total offices, but also in agent count.

“Our company has seen a pretty significant increase in agent count over the past year,” said NextHome’s Vice President of Business Development, Imran Poladi. “As our brokers get more comfortable and confident in what their NextHome brokerage has to offer, their ability to add talented agents has been exceptional.”

“I remember being in a room just three years ago with a dedicated corporate team who wanted to change the industry. And here we are, just 30 months into our journey and I’m so proud to see our company growing with productive, career-oriented REALTORS®,” added Poladi.

Building Business Through Text Messaging

Building Business Through Text Messaging

Since you can’t send texts to someone unless they consent, partnering with a bulk texting service provider helps make it easier.

On average, a Real Estate Professional’s email campaign messages are opened less than 10% of the time. SMS text messages get read 97% of the time…and more than 95% of text messages are read within 5 minutes of receipt. As these jaw-dropping numbers indicate, if SMS isn’t currently part of your marketing plan, it’s time to start texting.

Choosing a Service Provider

There are a number of technical and logistical hoops that have to be jumped through to develop an effective SMS marketing plan. That’s why determining which bulk texting service provider and plan is the best fit for you is the first step in the process. If you’d like to get an idea of what’s available, take look at SUMOTEXT, SlickText and ProTexting, three of the leading service providers in the bulk texting business.

The All-important “Opt-in” List

As long as your phone’s working, sending text messages to your friends, family members and co-workers is simple. Marketing via text message is little more complicated. Your potential recipients have to give you permission to send them marketing texts by “opting in” first. This means you’ll have to work with your bulk texting service provider build an opt-in list, usually by placing a “Click 2 Join” widget on your website and Facebook page and/or adding “Text 2 Join” messages to your marketing materials.

What to Do with Your List

Once you have an opt-in list, it’s important to focus on what you plan on communicating to your audience. While SMS messages are great for following up and answering (or asking) specific questions, instead of continually sending messages asking for referrals or touting your latest listing, try taking a “give to get” approach to your marketing campaign. When you give recipients something of value, you’ll get responses…and results. You can send personalized birthday wishes or holiday greetings, conduct a survey (with prizes for participants), invite recipients to download your mobile app and more.

From SMS to MMS

In addition to SMS, most of today’s phones also support MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages, allowing you to send photos and videos to everyone on your list. There’s no need to limit yourself to strictly sending SMS messages. Once you put the power of the smartphone to work for your business, the possibilities are endless.
