Chief Executive officer

James Dwiggins

James Dwiggins is the chief executive officer of NextHome, Inc. He’s third-generation in real estate—his grandmother and grandfather, father and mother all in the business. James brings to the table a sharp, innovative, and forward-focused vision. He’s been in the real estate franchise business since 2006, originally joining Realty World Northern California & Nevada as director of technology and strategy, where he was promoted to vice president five years later. In May 2014, he cofounded NextHome (with Tei Baishiki) and ran both brands until 2020, when Realty World International acquired the region back. In January 2015, James (and Tei) launched NextHome as an independent national real estate franchise.

Prior to joining Realty World, James cofounded—also with Tei, a decades-proven partnership—VREO, Inc. developer of groundbreaking enterprise-level internet applications for agents and brokers. VREO pioneered biometric signature software for paperless transactions and garnered numerous industry accolades, including the coveted Inman Innovator Award for its breakthrough technologies. Previously, James cofounded USA Virtual Tours, which he helped to grow nationally until its acquisition in 2001.

James speaks regularly and is a frequent media expert on real estate and other cross-industry franchise and technology advancements. He has been featured as a RISMedia Newsmaker and on the Swanepoel Power 200 list. Franchise Business Review recognized him as the leader of the number-one real estate franchise (and number-one across industries) in owner satisfaction for three years in a row. James is host of the Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered Podcast.

Originally from San Luis Obispo, James grew up playing soccer and went on to join the California state championship team. He studied business and criminal law at Cuesta College. Today, he loves riding horses and racing cars—he met Tei, who he went on to work with for over 20 years, drag racing on a Friday night when they were both teenagers. NextHome is their third company together.

Chief operating officer

Tei Baishiki

Tei Baishiki is the chief operating officer of NextHome, Inc. He oversees corporate operations and the innovation and implementation of new technologies that give our network the edge to stay ahead of the competition. He has been in the franchise business since 2008, when he first worked with NextHome CEO James Dwiggins at Realty World Northern California & Nevada. As chief technology officer there, Tei led the establishment and oversight of an in-house team of software engineers, web designers, and IT administrators. He directed strategic technology initiatives, infrastructure and application roadmaps before being promoted to chief operating officer in 2011, taking on all operating aspects of the company. In May 2014, he and James finalized the funding of NextHome, Inc., and purchased the Master License Agreement to Realty World Northern California & Northern Nevada, which was later acquired by Realty World, International.

Prior to joining Realty World, Tei and James cofounded VREO, Inc. There, as CTO and eventually CEO, Tei led the strategic planning of all operations including infrastructure and application development, and overall direction of technology initiatives. He was responsible for the design of DeepGreen Financial’s fully-automated client generation and loan processing platform, which handled more than $800 million in volume, and the launch of the original Realty World enterprise platform, which won the 2004 Inman Innovator Award for best real estate brokerage application. Tei is widely recognized as a leader in the residential real estate brokerage industry, including his placement on the RISMedia Newsmakers and Swanepoel Power 200 (SP200) list.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, Tei studied mechanical engineering before transitioning into business at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. He grew up building street rod automobiles with his father and has a passion for motorcycles—both interests he enjoys passing down to his son Drew, and both interests that call for a deep level of attention to detail that he thrives on applying to his work at NextHome.

Chief Strategy officer

Keith Robinson

Keith Robinson is the chief strategy officer for NextHome, Inc. He develops and oversees the implementation of key strategic business relationships to further our national growth. Keith has an extensive background in real estate, including experience in national business strategy, operations, sales training, recruitment, motivation, and effective marketing. His collaborative approach fosters the development of successful, long-term results-driven partnerships for NextHome members.

Before joining NextHome, Keith operated Prosper Marketing Inc. as the chief strategic officer. Previously, he was the COO of Better Homes & Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate, the nation’s 19th-largest real estate company, where he oversaw operations for 35 offices and more than 1,300 REALTORS®. His business acumen is also built on earlier experience as a consultant at SmartZip, as a vice president at North Point Real Estate Investment Services, and a team leader for Keller Williams Real Estate. He co-hosts the Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered Podcast alongside James.

Keith was born and raised in Oakland, California, and holds a BA in business administration from Missouri Southern (go Lions!). He had worked with nearly everyone on the NextHome senior management team before coming to join them, following the old “If you can’t beat them” adage. His greatest accomplishment by far is being the father of daughter Reese.

Vice President of sales

Charis Moreno

Charis Moreno is the vice president of sales for NextHome, Inc., and is responsible for the company’s growth and national expansion. Her deep understanding of how technology can be applied to helping brokers and agents become more productive and successful in today’s real estate environment is one of the many reasons our company, and our franchisees, are growing so quickly. She’s been in the real estate industry since 2003.

Before joining NextHome, Charis spent five and a half years as the senior manager of strategic partnerships at Trulia, where she oversaw all broker and franchisor relationships for the western half of the U.S. She was responsible for growing sales and maintaining a book of business that included more than 400 major brokerages and thousands of agents. Prior to joining Trulia in 2009, Charis was the vice president of inside sales for REALTOR.com, where she grew and led a team of seven managers with more than 150 sales representatives. Charis regularly speaks at local, regional, and national real estate conferences, sits on various industry panels, and hosts webinars on how to effectively leverage technology to be more productive and connect with consumers.

Charis was born in Houston, but later moved to a small town in southeast Texas, where she ran track and cross-country and played softball. She worked as a nanny and at the Dairy Queen, and, while still in high school, received her CNA certification through her work at a nursing home. From an early age she’s loved helping people and learning how to triage situations, and she sees real estate in a similar way. (We just triage differently.) Charis went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy, which ultimately led her to California, where she attended Moorpark Junior College. She has known James and Tei since 2008; they were her clients at Trulia. Charis met Keith, also a Trulia client, shortly after. She now lives in Southern California with her husband of over two decades and their two daughters.
