NextHome Ranked one of The Americas’ Fastest-Growing Companies

NextHome Ranked one of The Americas’ Fastest-Growing Companies

Pleasanton, CA — April 29, 2021 — NextHome was recently ranked on the Financial Times second annual list of The Americas’ fastest-growing companies for 2021. The list is comprised of the 500 companies in the Americas that have the highest growth in publicly disclosed revenues between 2016 and 2019.

The list was compiled with Statista, a research company, and ranks entrants from across the Americas by compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue between 2016 and 2019. Companies from these American countries were eligible to participate: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the US, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

NextHome was ranked No. 419 on the list that is dominated by digital companies. While NextHome prides itself on providing the latest technology for its members, at its core, it’s a real estate franchise – a human business.

The franchise’s “Humans Over Houses” mindset was coined by NextHome’s Chief Strategy Officer Keith Robinson at the 2019 NextHome Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The saying came to fruition as Keith was continuously bombarded by conversations that paint real estate as a tech industry.

“If we ever lose sight of the human in the transaction, we are out of business,” said Keith. “That’s really the heart of it: with something as intimate and complicated as real estate, you cannot lose sight of that personal connection.”

NextHome is proud to be a “people business” recognized on the Financial Times list of The Americas’ fastest-growing companies for 2021 in a sea of digital companies. Putting humans over houses is, and will continue to be, the core of every NextHomie’s business to help their community members find or sell their next home. NextHome Owner Heidi Powell Recognized as a Powerful Woman in Franchising

NextHome Owner Heidi Powell Recognized as a Powerful Woman in Franchising

Pleasanton, CA — April 23, 2021 — As part of Franchise Business Review’s annual Top Franchises for Women research, FBR surveyed over 8,000 female franchise owners to get their perspective on owning a franchise business in 2021. Earlier this year, NextHome was named a Top Franchise for Women in Franchise Business Review’s 2021 report.

The past year has been difficult for many business owners yet women franchise owners have demonstrated their resilience and commitment to their local communities.

While franchising has historically been a male-dominated industry, women business owners have made significant strides in the past decade. Today, women are opening one out of every three new franchise businesses and female franchise ownership has increased significantly.

Franchise Business Review shared a series of 27 inspiring stories from female franchise owners who are experiencing success as business owners – breaking through the barriers and challenges unique to being a woman in the business world. One of those stories featured Heidi Powell, Owner of NextHome Dynamic located in Freeport, Pennsylvania. Read on to learn more about Heidi, and click here to read the full article.

As a real estate agent, Heidi Powell wanted to support her community in finding their next homes.

“It’s not about the houses, the land, the numbers – it’s about the human factor,” she says. “We’re dealing with the human factor: The view over the kitchen table as you watch the kids play in the yard. The memories that will be made around the dining room table.”

Heidi initially started her career with a different franchise, but quickly found that her morals clashed with the numbers-driven goals of corporate. When her agreement ended, her research led her to NextHome and in July 2018 she became the 300th business with the franchise.

“Anyone who’s thinking of franchising, the research is so very important,” says Heidi. “To meet and speak with other franchisees.”

The NextHome franchise community has supported and uplifted Heidi while allowing her to follow her own initiatives. Early on in the pandemic and realizing how many in her community were struggling, Heidi partnered with a group of volunteers to provide and deliver free lunches to those in need.

“Any time you can do something for your local community, it’s not about business,” Heidi says. “It’s so important to support the community that takes care of us every other time of the year.”

We’re thrilled to see Heidi’s dedication to her community and being a proud example of being a woman in business recognized by Franchise Business Review. Her passion for putting humans over houses couldn’t be more of an encompassing representation of a NextHomie.

NextHome Named a Top Franchise for Women

NextHome Named a Top Franchise for Women

Pleasanton, CA — April 1, 2021 — NextHome was recently named the No. 1 franchise in the country by Franchise Business Review following an independent survey of 300+ brands across all sectors. Based on the findings of the survey, Franchise Business Review has now named NextHome a Top Franchise for Women in its 2021 report.

Franchise Business Review, a franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only rankings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises in its annual Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as in quarterly reports throughout the year that rank the top franchises in specific sectors.

NextHome was among 289 franchise brands, representing 8,453 female franchise owners, that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research on the Top Franchises for Women. NextHome’s franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including leadership, training & support, financial opportunity, and work/life balance.

“Franchising provides many options to women seeking business ownership on a full- or part-time basis,” said Michelle Rowan, President and COO of Franchise Business Review. “The number of franchise opportunities available can be overwhelming, so it’s critical to examine feedback from other female franchise owners on how well the franchise meets their expectations in terms of support, work/life balance, financial opportunity, and other key areas of business ownership. When you look at the brands on this year’s list of the top franchises for women, a whopping 88% of women said they enjoyed owning and operating their own business, making them all excellent options for women looking to make the transition to owning and operating their own business.”

The latest accolade for NextHome follows Franchise Business Review’s list of the Top Franchises for 2021, where NextHome was named the No. 1 franchise across all categories. This is also the third year NextHome was named a top franchise for women.

“It was always important for me when I was asked to lead the growth of the NextHome brand that we brought on the right people that share our vision, provide value, make a difference, and raise the bar in our industry,” said Charis Moreno, Vice President of Sales at NextHome. “Seeing that we made the list in a category I represent makes what we are doing that much more important and inspiring to me. Helping every class and gender become a business owner in our country is part of the American Dream, and to see we are leading in that dream makes our success that much more meaningful.”

Moreno and her executive assistant, Jennifer Wertheimer, comprise NextHome’s Franchise Sales team, which signed over 100 new offices in 2020. Moreno’s strong work ethic and passion for the NextHome brand is the reason NextHome maintains its impeccable company culture, each and every NextHome office that joins the network was backed by Moreno as a good fit for the franchise overall.

Entrepreneur Names NextHome a Fastest-Growing Franchise

Entrepreneur Names NextHome a Fastest-Growing Franchise

Pleasanton, CA — March 12, 2021 — Entrepreneur magazine has ranked NextHome as one of the fastest-growing franchises in the country on their annual list showcasing companies that are leveraging their ability to scale fast—and who take their franchisees along with them. NextHome ranked No. 54 on the list.

For 44 years and counting, Entrepreneur has been and continues to be the most widely recognized and respected authority in the franchise market.

The newest accolade under NextHome’s belt follows Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list at the beginning of the year, where NextHome was ranked No. 79 for its outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.

NextHome’s growth hasn’t stopped since the company’s inception in 2014. The franchise has opened 485+ offices with 4,500+ members across 48 states. The company closes over 29,000 transactions annually worth over $8.2B in volume.

Even with all the uncertainty the past year brought upon all industries, NextHome opened more offices in 2020 than the year prior.

While growth is good, NextHome prides itself on growing with the right people. Each oncoming NextHome office has been meticulously reviewed to ensure that they will be a good fit for the culture of the franchise.

“Our growth stems from our people. Better put, the right people,” said Charis Moreno, Vice President of Sales at NextHome, Inc. “The most empowering word in our language is the word ‘no’ and I use this word often when I discuss franchising opportunities with prospective brokers and agents. While metrics are important in some conversations, I don’t find them important when it comes to the overall success of NextHome. At the end of the day, you can have the best marketing, technology, and integrated systems and tools, but if you don’t have the right people the rest doesn’t even matter.”

The NextHome franchise, founded in 2014, has 480+ offices and 4,400+ members across 48 states. The company closes over 29,000 transactions annually worth over $8.2B in volume.

Franchise Business Review, a franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only rankings and awards for franchise companies based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of the top 200 franchises in its annual Guide to Today’s Top Franchises

NextHome was among over 300 franchise brands, representing more than 28,000 franchise owners, that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research. NextHome’s franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including training and support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations, and financial opportunity.

“There are thousands of successful franchise companies operating in North America, but many of those companies do not offer a solid investment opportunity for the actual franchise owners,” said Eric Stites, CEO of Franchise Business Review. “As an independent research firm, we rate the franchise companies in the marketplace today and identify those that have the highest levels of satisfaction and performance among their franchisees in order to educate potential buyers and help them choose which franchise to invest in. This year’s Franchisee Satisfaction Award winners truly are the best-of-the-best.”

Our Humans Over Houses philosophy is fostered in every decision we make as a franchise. Receiving this award confirms we are leading in the right direction for our members and is the reason we love what we do every day.”

Pleasanton, CA — February 5, 2021 — NextHome is thrilled to announce that their entire leadership team has been selected as RISMedia 2021 Real Estate Newsmakers — a dynamic group of key influencers making headlines as a result of their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry, and their efforts to positively affect the consumers and communities they serve.

RISMedia, the leader in U.S. real estate news and information services, announced its nearly 300, 2021 Real Estate Newsmakers on Feb. 1, in both an online directory on RISMedia.com and in the February issue of its flagship publication, Real Estate magazine.

NextHome’s entire senior management team has been recognized in five of the different categories.

Chief Executive Officer James Dwiggins was named a Trailblazer, a category described as “The Agents of Change.” James leads the innovative and forward-focused vision of the franchise. With a passion for understanding the areas where the industry is lacking, and a dedication to closing those gaps, he has elevated the luxury real estate experience that NextHome offers.

Chief Operating Officer Tei Baishiki was named a Trendsetter, a category for “The Creative Thinkers.” In his position, Tei plays a large role in interacting with each and every department in the company. Because of his commitment to a high standard of thoroughly vetting and testing their products and services, there is an over 70 percent adoption rate of the NextHome toolkit by members — staggeringly high above other franchises in the industry.

Vice President of Sales Charis Moreno was named a Futurist, dubbed as “The Forward Thinkers.” Her role focuses on growing the brand across the United States, and eventually internationally. In 2020, under Moreno’s leadership, NextHome opened its 500th office and added more new franchises during the COVID-19 pandemic than it did during the same period in 2019.

Vice President Imran Poladi was named as an Inspiration, known as “The Big-Hearted and Brave.” Imran oversees all training and business development for the company’s more than 500 franchised offices nationwide. He has educated thousands of agents and brokers across the globe, sharing his experiences to inspire business success.

Chief Strategy Officer Keith Robinson was named an Influencer, a group for “The Thought Leaders.” Keith is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of key strategic business relationships, further adding to the growth of the company’s national expansion.

“Every year, we’re amazed by the incredible ingenuity and success of members in the real estate community, ranging from the glass ceilings being shattered by industry leaders, to the creativity and innovation being implemented at a record pace, and all the way to the wonderful charitable work being accomplished across the nation,” said John Featherston, CEO, president and publisher of RISMedia. “This year, more than ever, we are proud to recognize the hard work, dedication and determination of real estate’s finest professionals — the 2021 Real Estate Newsmakers — who went above and beyond in 2020 even amid a turbulent time for the industry, and the world, facing the challenges head-on and without fear. Help us in celebrating their hard-earned recognition.”

RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers were chosen based on nominations received through an online nomination process on RISMedia.com, and by nominations from RISMedia’s in-house editorial team and other industry sources. Nominations for RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers are collected on an ongoing basis throughout the course of the year.

NextHome would like to thank the entire NextHome membership for their ongoing support, and dedication to making a difference in the real estate industry and in the lives of those in their local communities.

NextHome Named in Franchise Business Review’s “Culture100” List

NextHome Named in Franchise Business Review’s “Culture100” List

Pleasanton, CA — November 9, 2020 — NextHome was recently named to Franchise Business Review’s first annual “Culture100” list. The list recognizes the top 100 franchise brands in a 2020 report on the Best Franchise Cultures

Franchise Business Review, a franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction, provides the only rankings of franchises based solely on actual franchisee satisfaction and performance. Franchise Business Review publishes its rankings of top franchises in its annual Guide to Today’s Top Franchises, as well as in special interest reports throughout the year that identify the top franchises in specific sectors.

NextHome was among over 300 franchise brands, representing over 27,000 franchise owners, that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research on the best franchise cultures. NextHome franchisees were surveyed on 33 benchmark questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding critical areas of their franchise systems, including leadership, training & support, the franchisee community, and work/life balance.

The NextHome Culture has been a differentiator for the franchise since its inception in 2014. Their Humans Over Houses motto and mindset puts people first in an industry that so commonly forgets about the human connection in a tech-driven world.

“Many franchise organizations ‘talk the talk’ when it comes to culture, but it’s clear that they don’t all ‘walk the walk’,” said Eric Stites, CEO of Franchise Business Review. “A strong culture doesn’t just happen within a company—it has to be designed, built, and constantly maintained. The franchise companies that have the honor of being named to our first-annual Culture100 list are clearly among the best of the best franchises in the business.”

Another key factor of NextHome’s culture is growing with the right people.

“The most empowering word in our language is the word “no” and we use this word often when we discuss franchising opportunities with prospective brokers and agents,” said Charis Moreno, Vice President of Sales at NextHome. “We’re not looking to bring in everyone, and we think most people respect that.”

NextHome’s specific process for bringing on new franchising partners is heavily weighed on whether or not the new office would be a good, “culture fit” above growing numbers.

“While metrics are important in some conversations, we don’t find them important when it comes to the overall success of NextHome,” said Charis. “At the end of the day, you can have the best marketing, technology, and integrated systems and tools, but if you don’t have the right people the rest doesn’t even matter.”

NextHome announces new Denver-area office

NextHome announces new Denver-area office

Alfonso, Maggie, Cecilia, and Steve Montalvo

Pleasanton, CA — October 9, 2020 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Infinity, based in Centennial, Colorado. The brokerage represents the 15th office location opened in Colorado for the NextHome franchise and the 516th NextHome office opened nationally.

NextHome Infinity will serve clients across the Denver metro area, including Aurora, Centennial, Parker, Lakewood, Westminster, Arvada, Highland Ranch, and Littleton.

Under the leadership of the Montalvo family, NextHome Infinity is poised to help all types of residential clients. The husband and wife team of Steve and Cecilia Montalvo lead the brokerage with extensive sales and homebuilding experience. Steve’s father and mother Alfonso and Maggie Montalvo bring to the venture an entrepreneurial spirit and extensive experience in small business ownership. Each is fluent in Spanish, offering expertise for bilingual clients.

Steve has been in the homebuilding business for more than 20 years and, together with Cecilia, has been flipping homes in the Denver area for the same amount of time.

Cecilia obtained her real estate license in 2017 after leaving a career in the telecommunications industry. Her introduction to real estate began with a chance encounter while working the sales floor at Verizon. The customer approached Cecilia, asking if she spoke Spanish. When Cecilia said that she did, the woman identified herself as the broker/owner of a high achieving real estate firm. She then said that Cecilia’s exceptional customer service skills and her grasp of the Spanish language would make her an excellent REALTOR®.

“She convinced me to go to real estate school and we remain very good friends,” Cecilia recalled.

After completing real estate school, Cecilia soaked up as much experience and knowledge as she could working for two nationally franchised brands. However, her goal was always to own her own business.

“I learned exactly what worked and what didn’t, what I loved and what I didn’t,” Cecilia said.

As it turned out, 2020 presented the perfect opportunity. Prior to March, Cecilia found herself busier than ever before. Then a global pandemic forced her to shift her time and attention to reinvesting in her business and her education.

As Steve and Cecilia considered how to best grow their business, Steve stumbled across an article in REALTOR® Magazine.

“I was intrigued that NextHome was one of the fastest growing real estate franchises in the nation – and by the incredible value,” Steve said. “Then when I spoke with Charis (Moreno, NextHome’s VP of Sales), I was blown away. I began to think, maybe we can actually do this the right away instead of piecing together our own independent and just hoping it worked.”

As Cecilia and Steve delved deeper into NextHome’s business philosophy and company culture, they discovered a perfect match.

“As we understood the vision and heart of the leaders at NextHome, we knew that it was a match with the heart and vision that we have for our people,” Steve said. “What drives NextHome isn’t about hitting a certain number but remembering the actual people you are serving and why you are in the business to begin with. NextHome’s Humans over Houses approach was huge for us when deciding where we want to invest for the future of our careers.”

Today, the Montalvo family is running a brokerage built on the values of hard work, empathy, and providing opportunity for others.

Al inspired this legacy when he came to the United States as a 16-year old boy.

“Both he and my mother were very poor,” Steve recalled. “They immediately became entrepreneurs and business owners and worked hard to improve their lives and the lives of their children.”

The family real estate story is partially built on a time when Alfonso and Maggie aspired to homeownership as a young couple in 1987.

“They needed $5,000 for a down payment,” Steve said. “So, for three months they would wake up a three in the morning and make burritos and sell them to make that earnest money. We want our children, our clients and our agents to understand both the value of hard work, but also the impact they can have on others around them. At NextHome Infinity, we are built on values that inspire and encourage people to provide for their families and build their own legacy.”

“At NextHome Infinity the agents that are here are truly here to look after the best interests of our clients and not only find them a home but the perfect home for them,” Cecilia added. “That’s what we strive for and work on every day.”

The Montalvo family not only knows how to work hard, but also how to have fun. The Montalvos are avowed foodies who enjoy designing family trips around discovering the world’s best food.

Steve and Cecilia are together raising a beautiful blended family of five daughters and one son: Ebony (20), Alexia (18), Zamaria (17), Yurivia (15), Ezteban (13), and Izabella (12).

Please join us in congratulating the Montalvos on the opening of NextHome Infinity in Centennial, Colorado!

NextHome Named a Top Growth Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine

NextHome Named a Top Growth Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine

Pleasanton, CA — September 15, 2020 — NextHome was recently ranked in Entrepreneur magazine’s first Top Growth Franchises list. This list recognizes the 150 companies with the greatest positive franchise unit growth in North America over a three year period, based on data submitted for Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500® ranking. Thanks to its exceptional growth, NextHome was ranked No. 30.

“By maintaining steady, sustained growth over several years, these franchises have demonstrated that they have the systems in place to support their franchisees and help them become successful,” said Jason Feifer, Entrepreneur’s editor-in-chief. “Now as these and other companies around the country face unprecedented challenges, they may see their growth slow, but that record of success could prove more important than ever.”

The ranking follows a year of milestones for the six-year-old franchise. Although 2020 has been a year of uncertainty, NextHome’s growth has persevered as they reached 500 offices with 4,000 members across the country.

To determine the 2020 Top Growth Franchises ranking, Entrepreneur looked at each company’s U.S. and Canadian franchise numbers over a three-year period (from July 2016 to July 2019; given the rapid changes, COVID-19 impacts weren’t taken into account). In order to qualify, companies had to have positive growth of at least five units each year. They were ranked based on a formula that considers their total positive U.S. and Canadian franchise growth over the three years as well as factors that negatively affect growth, such as terminations, nonrenewals, and other closures.

To view NextHome in the full ranking, visit entrepreneur.com/franchises/topgrowth. Results can also be seen in the September 2020 issue of Entrepreneur.

A Year of Milestones for NextHome

A Year of Milestones for NextHome

Pleasanton, CA — August 28, 2020 — Registering success in any industry is commonly marked by milestones. These measurements are commonly made up of growth in numbers, awards, press, rankings, and so on. For being a mere six-year-old franchise, NextHome has made its mark in the real estate industry and beyond.

Although 2020 has been a difficult year for all, to say the least, the NextHome network of real estate professionals across the country has created an even stronger bond – and it’s been recognized.

Through the bad, we want to make sure we share the good. NextHome has hit and surpassed many milestones this year and we couldn’t be more proud to share them, but they are all a direct result of the members who have helped build the brand we are so proud of today.

Let’s break it down!

To start, as of this month NextHome has opened over 500 franchised offices, with a total of 4,000+ members. While growth is good, we pride ourselves on growing with the right people. Each oncoming NextHome office has been meticulously reviewed to ensure that they will be a good fit for the culture of the franchise.

Ensuring every NextHome office will cultivate our shared core values has allowed us to build a solid foundation that speaks for itself. This year Franchise Business Review named NextHome the No. 3 top franchise in owner satisfaction out of 307 of the country’s top franchise brands across all sectors. In the real estate category, NextHome ranked No. 1 in the U.S.

Along with being named one of the country’s top franchised brands, Franchise Business Review also recognized NextHome on the Top 100 Culture List and named our organization a Top Franchise for Women.

Inc. magazine revealed its annual Inc. 5000 list this month, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. We’re thrilled to share that NextHome ranked No. 3344 on the list, with a growth rate of 112.97%. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.

Another impressive list, Entrepreneur magazine ranked NextHome No. 95 among the world’s very best franchise systems on its annual Franchise 500® list earlier this year. The recognition was given for NextHome’s outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.

Of course, NextHome wouldn’t be where it is today without impeccable leadership. Chief Executive Officer James Dwiggins and Chief Operating Officer Tei Baishiki of NextHome were recognized by T3 Sixty this year as prominent leaders in the residential real estate industry for 2020, making the SP200 list of most powerful leaders and the Watchlist.

James was also selected as a RISMedia 2020 Real Estate Newsmaker—a dynamic group of key influencers making headlines as a result of their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry, and their efforts to positively affect the consumers and communities they serve. James was recognized in the Trailblazer category, a fitting title as NextHome continues to grow exponentially.

While a successful franchise can be attributed to being in the hands of great leadership, it’s core strength is its members. This year we were proud to see the recognition of four NextHome offices on The REAL Trends 500 list for closing over 500 sides in 2019. Congratulations again to NextHome Experience in Worthington, OH with 1,023 closed sides, NextHome Experience in Bangor, ME with 712 closed sides, NextHome Realty Center in Cypress, TX with 694 closed sides, and NextHome Specialists in Columbia, SC with 567 closed sides.

The REAL Trends + Tom Ferry’s The Thousand list also recognized the orange and gray with NextHomie Kimberly Taylor of NextHome First Class in Freeport, IL being ranked No. 12 on the 2020 Agent-Owned Brokerage Individual Transaction Sides list with 283 sides. The notable list highlights the top one-tenth of one percent of more than 1.4 million licensed REALTORS® nationwide.

Alongside these amazing recognitions was an ongoing pandemic that halted most plans, and created an immediate need for member support. While we couldn’t be more proud of NextHome’s accomplishments, we’re most proud of how our franchise has shifted while continuing to put our people first – by putting humans over houses.

“In a matter of weeks, our team canceled our 2020 NextHome Conference set to take place in April as the world closed. However, we quickly adjusted and launched a webinar series over a six-week period featuring some of the industry’ss (and the world’s) top speakers, motivators, and educators for our NextHomies,” said James. “Although a pandemic was something we couldn’t have predicted – change is inevitable and we will always ensure our members are our top-priority through thick and thin. We’re family.”

That family-centric approach is how we conduct business, and will continue to be our core value at NextHome no matter how big we grow, or how many recognitions we receive.
