NextHome announces new D.C. area brokerage

June Bryant

Pleasanton, CA — May 13, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Millennium Realty, based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The brokerage represents the 10th office location opened in Maryland for the NextHome franchise and the 569th NextHome office opened nationally.

The brokerage will serve clients across the Maryland area, including Washington, D.C. Under the leadership of broker/owner, June Bryant. NextHome Millennium Realty will eventually also offer its services in Virginia.

A seasoned investor, June started her real estate career in 2006. The core of her business was her own personal flip and investment properties. Throughout the years, June has personally bought and sold more than 70 homes across the eastern seaboard.

Eventually, friends and family began asking June for her help with their transactions and her business began to blossom. In 2016, June began working as an agent representing others. As her reputation for excellence grew, other agents began to seek out June as a trusted source for industry information. Although she had become a successful recruiter for a nationally franchised brokerage, June knew that she wanted to create her own environment for fostering fresh talent.

“I had all these young people who were dying to get into the business, and I wanted to give them the help they needed,” June said.

She began looking at franchise ownership and discovered NextHome.

“NextHome was already doing what everybody else was trying to catch up with,” June said. “With NextHome, I knew I could get industry-leading technology without having to spend my precious time reinventing the wheel. It was already all set.”

Today, June is using her new brokerage to nurture fresh and ambitious agent talent.

“That’s why I named our office Millennium Realty,” June explained. “I attract new, Millennial talent, I have the opportunity to build a culture from the ground up that will make NextHome Millennium Realty the area’s premier source for cutting-edge service.”

Outside the office, June is a dedicated philanthropist. She takes several weeks each year to travel to and serve orphanages in Kenya and Guatemala.

“I am originally from Kenya, so serving people there is very close to my heart,” June said.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she would spend at least one Saturday each month serving food at the local homeless shelter. These days, June is a dedicated volunteer at The Bowie Interfaith Pantry. She is the proud mother of two grown sons, Terrill Williams (27) and Jarrett (20). Both sons are in the process of obtaining their real estate licenses and following in their mother’s footsteps.

Please join us in congratulating June on the opening of NextHome Millennium Realty in Upper Marlboro, Maryland!

NextHome Premier Realtors is owned by high-performing REALTOR® and New Orleans local, Harry Varnadore.

Harry began his real estate sales career in 2009. Prior to real estate, Harry was director of human resources for Equifax.

Since obtaining his license, Harry has worked with two New Orleans-based franchises. He spent eight years with Prudential Gardener and another four years with Keller Williams Uptown.

From the beginning, Harry was a high-achieving REALTOR®. His first year in business, he was his brokerage’s Rookie of the Year and he has been a Platinum Award recipient every year since. Most recently, Harry was in the top 10 percent of high-performing REALTORS® at his brokerage.

Building on all this success, Harry knew that he wanted to open his own brokerage. He spent several years looking for a franchise that aligned with his values, and where he saw the market heading.

“Then, I found NextHome and the rest is history,” Harry said.

Since signing with NextHome, Harry has been inundated with professional agents who are looking to take advantage of NextHome’s industry-leading tools and technology.

“I have had so much overwhelming support when I mention NextHome’s mascot, Luke the frenchie,” Harry said. “That catches people’s eye. Also, I love the branding, the signage, and the marketing.”

Today, Harry is continuing to attract agents who are willing to ask questions, be involved in their own success, and provide high-quality service to clients.

“The right agent fit for NextHome Premier Realtors is an inquiring mind who is always willing to learn and grow,” Harry said.

In his community, Harry is a dedicated supporter of The Gay Easter Parade and he has raised hundreds of thousands for the local AIDS Foundation. NextHome expands in Rhode Island

NextHome expands in Rhode Island

Brian Buonaiuto

Pleasanton, CA — May 11, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the expansion of NextHome Ocean State Realty Group into Bristol, Rhode Island. This second brokerage builds on the success of NextHome Ocean State Realty Group’s first office location in Cranston, Rhode Island.

The Bristol expansion represents the second office location opened in Rhode Island for the NextHome franchise and the 567th NextHome office opened nationally. Owner Brian Buonaiuto pioneered the brand in 2019 when he opened the first NextHome franchise in the state.

NextHome Ocean State Realty Group will continue to provide unparalleled service across Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts, including in the cities of Portsmouth, Middletown, Newport, Tiverton, Barrington, and Warren.

However, the new office in Bristol will allow the brokerage to provide focused, community-level service for this growing area.

“We are excited to be a part of this community and offer buyers and sellers something fresh and innovative,” Brian said. “Our brokerage takes pride in being able to service the entire state. Based on the size of Rhode Island, an agent can drive from one side of the state to the other in 45 minutes. However, with an office in this community, we can be present and service this area’s specific needs that much better.”

Brian is joined on the brokerage’s leadership team by his wife Tara, who as a licensed agent, will run the day-to-day operations in Bristol.

Brian comes from a background in corporate management, where he had previously worked at several different Fortune 500 Companies such as Burger King, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Public Storage.

Knowing he was no longer interested in corporate America, Brian had an eye on pursuing his passion for real estate and in 2018, he left his management role to make the move to selling homes full-time.

“I wanted to take my business experience and direct it towards a career where I felt I could really make a difference with buyers and sellers who were looking for great representation,” Brian said.

He started with a small independent brokerage in Cranston and did very well in his first year. But it was a conversation with a friend from Florida that caught his attention.

“I was anxious to start my own brokerage as soon as I was able,” Brian said. “My friend told me about her brokerage (NextHome Gulf Coast) and I looked into the franchise.”

“Everything I saw, I absolutely loved,” he added.

In early 2019, Brian opened NextHome Ocean State Realty Group in Cranston.

Brian says the NextHome Ocean State Realty Group difference will be having “a company that delivers high level technology that not only helps the buyers and sellers, but also allows agents to provide a ton of value for their clients.”

Brian and Tara have been married for seven years and they have a six-year-old son, Jack. With Jack having autism, the couple are very involved with multiple charities and organizations that provide support to families with autistic children.

Please join us in congratulating Brian and Tara on the opening of NextHome Ocean State Realty Group in Bristol, Rhode Island!

Jeff has been a dedicated REALTOR® since 2004, starting his real estate sales career with Properties Northwest Real Estate. The boutique brokerage has an extensive legacy of excellence in the Valley, dating back to 1995 when it was founded by Larry Wakefield. Through dedicated customer service, Jeff has been able to build a thriving career that is almost entirely referral based. He was recognized as the brokerage’s Rookie of the Year his first year in the business. Jeff is also proud that he was able to remain a full-time, professional sales agent through the Great Recession’s housing crisis.

Lauri joined Jeff as a licensed REALTOR® in 2017.

“I needed a career change and Jeff’s sales volume had reached a point where he needed help,” Lauri said. “I jumped at the opportunity to join the real estate industry.”

In her new role, Lauri became adept at client outreach and retention as well as social media marketing.

“It makes us more responsive having two of us,” Jeff said. “And with Lauri, we are getting things accomplished for clients very quickly and efficiently.”

With this track record of excellence, Jeff and Lauri are looking forward to transitioning Properties Northwest Real Estate to a NextHome franchise. Under this new leadership structure, Larry Wakefield will remain as energetic and service-minded as ever as a broker at NextHome Northwest Real Estate. The brokerage is also proud to have six full-time, career-driven agents ready to serve the Kalispell community. Jeff and Lauri pride themselves on an agent roster that is filled with people who have deep roots in the area.

By adding in NextHome’s industry-leading tools and technology, NextHome Northwest Real Estate is ready for future growth.

“NextHome offers the whole package, saving us a lot of time and freeing us up to spend our time with clients,” Lauri said. “The branding is very sleek and modern and stands out from anything else we have in the Valley right now.”

Jeff and Lauri are excited about providing their agents with resources they can’t find anywhere else.

“Not only does NextHome offer exceptional training in a vast variety of things you can study on your own time, but we can also offer agents access to some of the most cutting-edge research, market statistics, and analytics that are out there,” Lauri said. “Having access to that type of information makes us more knowledgeable as we consult our clients on real estate and where it might be heading in the future.”

With the support of a franchise, NextHome Northwest Real Estate is positioning itself as an attractive home for full-time professionals who have a high level of integrity and an exceptional work ethic.

“Not only do we offer a beautiful brick-and-mortar office, but NextHome Northwest Real Estate will provide a very healthy, wholesome, and professional atmosphere to work in,” Jeff said.

Both Jeff and Lauri are active in serving their community. Jeff has been an active member of the Kalispell Daybreak Rotary Club for more than 20 years. He has also served with the area’s school board and chamber of commerce.

Lauri thoroughly enjoys her work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). Over many years, she has helped advocate for children in the foster care system.

Jeff and Lauri are the proud parents of three children, McKenna (25), Greg (22), and Georgia (16). When the family isn’t working, they are often found boating on Flathead Lake. Jeff is also an avid mountain biker who takes great pride in both protecting and enjoying the region’s world-class mountain biking trails.

“We can really speak the language of recreation with clients,” Jeff said. “Between the lakes, Glacier National Park, and our extensive public lands, the Flathead Valley is paradise. We are very knowledgeable about these amenities and love to share those great secret spots with people, helping others enjoy the outdoors and a great way of life in Western Montana.”

Please join us in congratulating Jeff and Lauri on the opening of NextHome Northwest Real Estate in Kalispell, Montana!

NextHome announces new Central Valley, CA brokerage

NextHome announces new Central Valley, CA brokerage

Frank Cuevas & Aidan Melo

Pleasanton, CA — May 6, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Central Valley, based in Turlock, California. The brokerage represents the 82nd office location opened in California for the NextHome franchise and the 565th NextHome office opened nationally.

NextHome Central Valley will serve clients across Stanislaus and Merced counties including the cities of Modesto, Merced, Los Banos, Atwater, and Stevinson.

Under the leadership of owners Frank Cuevas and Aidan Melo, NextHome Central Valley will offer industry-leading innovation to buyers and sellers. Frank will serve as NextHome Central Valley’s Chief Executive Officer and Broker of Record. Aidan is the brokerage’s Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, and will focus his time on accounting, marketing, and long-term strategy.

“We are excited to be able to combine our strengths and talents as we offer our clients and agents opportunities unique to the Central Valley,” Frank said.

Frank brings expertise in commercial investment to the partnership. He began his career at Northgate Commercial in Stockton, working in leasing and investment sales. Although he was able to glean unparalleled knowledge from the area’s highest producers, Frank eventually realized that his personality was better suited for the residential side of real estate.

“I enjoy building that personal connection with my clients,” Frank said.

That’s when he began talking with his friend, Aidan, about opening a brokerage.

Aidan obtained his real estate sales license in 2020 after realizing his talents in sales.

Prior to real estate, Aidan’s passion for good health led him to a job managing the personal training department for a local gym and selling memberships. He quickly became the No. 1 salesperson in the region. However, COVID-19’s impact on the personal fitness industry led Aidan toward residential real estate sales.

After discovering NextHome, Frank and Aidan knew that the franchise would offer something innovative to the Central Valley market.

“With this franchise’s cutting-edge tools, technology, and marketing, we can really bring more of a modern real estate experience to our clients,” Aidan said. “That’s one reason I fell in love with NextHome in the first place – no one else will have the tools and technology that we can offer.”

Aidan and Frank recognized that NextHome also knew how to effectively use technology to build strong relationships with clients, agents, and the community.

“It seems like every industry is moving into the tech space,” Aidan said. “However, NextHome recognizes that the client relationship is central, and the technology should exist to enhance that.”

As Aidan and Frank grow NextHome Central Valley, they also look forward to creating service opportunities in their communities. In the past, Frank has worked in environmental advocacy for asthmatics and Aidan has volunteered with The Boys and Girls Club.

In his spare time, Frank is an avid tennis player and enjoys puzzles.

Aidan is a devoted Sacramento Kings basketball fan who played the sport all his life. He is also passionate about his health and enjoys weightlifting and bodybuilding.

Please join us in congratulating Frank and Aidan on the opening of NextHome Central Valley in Turlock, California!

NextHome and CMG Financial Launch NextMortgage, a New Mortgage Experience

NextHome and CMG Financial Launch NextMortgage, a New Mortgage Experience

Pleasanton, CA – May 6, 2021 – NextHome, the No. 1 real estate franchise, and CMG Financial, a national privately-held, mortgage banking firm, announce the launch of their new joint venture partnership, NextMortgage.

NextMortgage will launch with offices in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kentucky first with plans to continue expansion throughout the United States. The company will be a collaborative partnership centered around the very best loan officers with a focus on culture, guidance, knowledge, and educating consumers to make empowered real estate decisions.

NextHome is the No. 1 franchise in the U.S. across all categories for 2020 based on customer satisfaction. Their ethos as a company has been to put humans first and trust that the business will follow and grow by providing exemplary service to their franchisees. NextHome plans to carry that same mindset and approach to the mortgage business, by building a company with the same principles.

“It’s rare to find a mortgage company that shares our same vision and principles, but after meeting the team at CMG Financial, we knew they were the right partner to create an entirely new mortgage experience for the NextHome membership,” said NextHome CEO James Dwiggins. “We’re truly excited at the prospect of developing a simpler, concierge-based real estate experience by combining the very best real estate agents and loan officers in the business.”

Similarly, CMG Financial thrives because of its loan officer-centric culture, with leadership working together to support branches on the local level and deliver the tools they need to succeed. One of the advantages of the joint venture partnership with CMG Financial is that loan officers will gain access to nationwide operations support plus proprietary products available exclusively to CMG and its affiliates.

First-time homebuyers can take advantage of HomeFundItTM, the down payment gifting platform, to accept and apply monetary gifts toward their down payment and buy a home sooner with a larger down payment.

Experienced homeowners may benefit from the All In One LoanTM, a first lien HELOC that combines mortgage financing and banking to help homeowners pay off their mortgage faster and reduce the lifetime cost of mortgage interest, all while maintaining access to home equity as needed.

“We are thrilled to be working with NextHome, a company that is dedicated to personalizing the real estate experience and believes in the individual over the deal. Here at CMG Financial, culture is crucial to the success of our company. Finding a like-minded partner helped shape the creation of NextMortgage – a new mortgage lender that is heavily focused on improving the overall home buying experience for all parties involved,” said Chris Harris, SVP Joint Venture Manager, the CMG Financial.

The brokerage represents the 16th office location opened in New York for the NextHome franchise and the 564th NextHome office opened nationally.

NextHome YourHome will provide high-quality service to clients across Westchester County including Scarsdale, Armonk, and Ardsley.

Joe is launching NextHome YourHome with his extensive construction experience. For many years, Joe has developed extensive connections throughout the Westchester-area construction industry, and he brings a perspective to home buying that is unique in his area.

“My construction experience gives me the ability to maximize value all over the place,” Joe said. “We can help our clients make the home they just bought fit their exact vision. Or, for our sellers, we can advise on the right things to renovate before putting their house on the market to maximize the potential for the sale.”

The brokerage brand is new for Joe’s (and the Westchester) area and provides an unparalleled level of support for both clients and agents.

“I see that NextHome cares about its franchise owners and agents, and that goes a long way,” Joe said. “My vision involves supporting my agents full-time so that they can represent NextHome YourHome with integrity. With NextHome’s dedication to brand integrity and agent support, combined with my business experience, I will be able to guide my agents to become stronger entrepreneurs.”

As NextHome YourHome continues to grow under Joe’s leadership, he aims to create an environment where his agents love the company they work for and enjoy spreading the word about how beneficial their experience with NextHome has been for their careers.

Joe also envisions giving back to his community in many ways, including developing partnerships with the local high school and hospital.

“We want to be known as the brokerage that cares about people, which aligns with NextHome’s Humans Over Houses philosophy.”

NextHome Ranked one of The Americas’ Fastest-Growing Companies

NextHome Ranked one of The Americas’ Fastest-Growing Companies

Pleasanton, CA — April 29, 2021 — NextHome was recently ranked on the Financial Times second annual list of The Americas’ fastest-growing companies for 2021. The list is comprised of the 500 companies in the Americas that have the highest growth in publicly disclosed revenues between 2016 and 2019.

The list was compiled with Statista, a research company, and ranks entrants from across the Americas by compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue between 2016 and 2019. Companies from these American countries were eligible to participate: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the US, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

NextHome was ranked No. 419 on the list that is dominated by digital companies. While NextHome prides itself on providing the latest technology for its members, at its core, it’s a real estate franchise – a human business.

The franchise’s “Humans Over Houses” mindset was coined by NextHome’s Chief Strategy Officer Keith Robinson at the 2019 NextHome Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The saying came to fruition as Keith was continuously bombarded by conversations that paint real estate as a tech industry.

“If we ever lose sight of the human in the transaction, we are out of business,” said Keith. “That’s really the heart of it: with something as intimate and complicated as real estate, you cannot lose sight of that personal connection.”

NextHome is proud to be a “people business” recognized on the Financial Times list of The Americas’ fastest-growing companies for 2021 in a sea of digital companies. Putting humans over houses is, and will continue to be, the core of every NextHomie’s business to help their community members find or sell their next home. Learn more by visiting

April Economic Update

April Economic Update

Let’s dive right into the market updates as of late. This economic update will be a little longer since we’ve gotten a convergence of news that is worth noting.

Rates: It’s the second straight week of lowering rates. I’ve been paying attention to the pace that rates were rising, we were hoping for a taper and that’s exactly what we have received. It seems to have leveled off at 3.3%. Still a great rate, and the leveling off helps keep that shock out of the market. Overall, good news. Read a great article on the details HERE.

Jobless Claims: These have moved in the right direction. Jobless claims have hit a one-year low, which is huge for recovery. You may remember one of my fears is the “willfully unemployed,” but if this number continues to move in the proper direction, it means that will be less of an issue since people will be choosing to go back to work instead of stay on the subsidy. A big plus for recovery.

Retail Sales Numbers: This topic has been pretty baked in, but we also saw a bigger than the already expected big retail sales numbers. Some are saying the spike in retail sales is because of the stimulus, but I don’t really buy that (get it?). What this is really about is the world opening back up, so people are spending again.

In short: Jobless claims are down, retail sales are up, both key indicators for recovery. Another great article on this topic can be found HERE.

Inflation: CPI (Consumer Price Index) rose…  a lot. Sure, it’s mostly because of gasoline prices, but I won’t unpack what’s going on in oil – it’s too much and oil and real estate are only loosely correlated. However, the summary is this: it got more expensive to buy things and that, ladies and gents, is called inflation. Some are saying this is the first step of many in inflationary pressures. You can flood the market with this much easy money and not have inflation, but we said that in 2008 and we never saw inflation. We still have historic unemployment, underemployment, and a beat-up GDP, so it’s not exactly the roaring 20’s over here. Personally, I think a little inflation is a good thing, it’s another sign of recovery, but we do have to pay close attention to this one. Read an informative article on this topic HERE

Summary: More people are at work, more people are buying things, and inflation is starting to creep in. Now is when you’ll start to hear the Fed come off of that whole “no rate increase for a long time” language. They’ll start to hint at recovery and things that they’ll need to do to start to reduce the amount of stimulus they’re giving to the market. In 2008, this was the “taper” discussion. Without going too deep (too late?) they will taper off their support of the secondary mortgage market and then (maybe at the same time) start to raise rates. I am calling for a rate increase before the end of the year, but we shall see. Oh, and the market is going to go bananas today. The recovery is in full effect today, up 245 points at the time of this writing.

That’s a lot to unpack, but I have been looking at these for a few weeks and with receiving the jobless and retail sales numbers recently, it seemed like a good time to share an update on what’s floating around in my head (so take it with a grain of salt).

NextHome PaperTown opens in Clyde, North Carolina

NextHome PaperTown opens in Clyde, North Carolina

Teresa Bailey & Jeremy Colclasure

Pleasanton, CA — April 28, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome PaperTown, based in Clyde, North Carolina. The brokerage represents the 29th office location opened in North Carolina for the NextHome franchise and the 563rd NextHome office opened nationally.

Located just 20 minutes from Asheville, NextHome PaperTown will serve clients across Haywood, Jackson, Madison, and Buncombe county.

The brokerage is owned by Teresa Bailey and Jeremy Colclasure – a husband and wife team who are building their business on a foundation of compassionate service.

Teresa obtained her real estate license in 2018. She started her career with two nationally recognized franchises, benefitting from great mentorship and guidance. Most recently, Teresa sold with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Heritage in Canton, North Carolina.

During her first year in business, Teresa’s hard work created $1 million in sales volume. Last year, she sold more than $7 million in a market where the average home price hovers around $225,000. As she considers her career, Teresa is most proud of the people she helps.

“Most of my sales are in the under $175,000 range because I tend to work with a lot of people with low credit scores or who are first-time homebuyers,” Teresa said. “I enjoy helping people achieve homeownership when they thought it might never be possible for them.”

Teresa’s business also includes her experience with commercial sales and vast experience in the area of mountain luxury homes.

From the beginning, Teresa’s goal was to build her own business. After talking with other REALTORS®, she discovered NextHome and knew it was the right fit for her. As a new NextHome broker, Teresa hopes to create a business built on service and compassion for those in her hometown.

“I do this to help people,” Teresa said. “I was born and raised in Haywood County and I want people who live there to be happy. My goal is to help people realize that they can own their own homes.”

Though Teresa has spent her years in real estate refining many valuable skills, her greatest strength is an ability to love and nurture those around her. This talent has been refined through her 23 years of experience as a foster parent. In that time, Teresa and Jeremy have provided a temporary home for more than 300 children. Teresa and Jeremy are the proud parents of Dustin, Skyler, Chandi, Samuel, Jack, and twins Gabby & Jasmine. Additionally, they are Gigi and Poppy to Sawyer, Bryson, Everlee, Lainey and several foster grandchildren. Teresa and Jeremy would like to invite you to join their big family by being part of NextHome PaperTown!

Please join us in congratulating Teresa and Jeremy on the opening of NextHome PaperTown in Clyde, North Carolina!
