Pleasanton, CA — May 27, 2026 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Horizon Realty, located in Orlando, Florida. The brokerage joins the growing NextHome franchise that currently has more than 600 active office locations across the country.
NextHome Horizon Realty offers in-depth knowledge in luxury real estate, international relocations, second homes, vacation properties, and all other areas of residential real estate.
The brokerage serves clients throughout Orlando, Windermere, Winter Garden, Gotha, Celebration, Clermont, Kissimmee, Davenport, Mount Dora, and the remainder of the Orlando Metropolitan Area.
Leading the brokerage is Alexander van Grondelle, an international residential real estate specialist and longtime NextHome owner. With a career spanning more than two decades, Alex brings seasoned expertise and a deep commitment to client care. Raised in both Nottingham, England, and the Middle Eastern island of Bahrain by international parents, Alex relocated to Florida after marrying his wife, Alexandra, in 1996 and began his real estate career in 2002. In 2007, he earned his broker’s license and launched his own independent brokerage, focusing on vacation homes and international relocation. He has since guided clients through some of the most challenging real estate cycles with consistency and integrity.
In 2015, Alex became one of Florida’s earliest NextHome franchise owners.
“NextHome had all of the systems agents would need,” Alex said. “Add in the training, the tools, the live support – all of that means a lot not only to agents, but brokers as well. NextHome was the right fit.”
Despite his years of success across varying market conditions, Alex considers his greatest professional accomplishment to be the long-term trust of his clients.
“After 24 years in real estate, what I’m most proud of is the trust my clients continue to place in me,” Alex said. “People who bought their homes with me back in 2002 still trust me to help them with future purchases, and now I’m helping their kids buy and sell homes. Knowing that families return to me across generations is my greatest indication that I’m doing something right.”
Over the years, Alex’s first NextHome office attracted driven leaders and found its unique niche in Kissimmee-area real estate. Today, Alex’s original office continues to thrive as longtime office leaders step into full ownership.

They truly practice what Keith (Robinson, NextHome President of Strategy) has taught – ‘Humans over Houses.’ That example inspires me to lead with the same care and dedication to both my agents and clients.”

Alex is the recent Chair of the Global Council for the Orlando Regional REALTORS® Association. In past years, Alex served as the association’s Grievance Committee Chair and served on the Professional Standards Committee.
Alex and his wife have opened their hearts and home to 25 foster and adopted children over the years. Today, Alex continues that spirit of service as President of the Men of Holy Family council at his family’s church. When he’s not giving back to his community, Alex treasures time with his wife and enjoys reconnecting with his family’s roots during travels to the UK, Holland, and the Middle East.
