Pleasanton, CA — April 8, 2020 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Corridor, based in Williamsburg, Iowa. The brokerage represents the fifth office location opened in Iowa for the NextHome franchise and the 455th NextHome office opened nationally.
The brokerage is owned by Jackie Phillips and will serve residential buyers and sellers up and down Iowa’s I-380 corridor.
From her office in Williamsburg, Jackie is about 20 miles west of Iowa City and about 90 miles east of Des Moines. NextHome Corridor will serve clients across many counties including Iowa, Washington, Johnson, Jones, Cedar, Benton, and Linn.
With her knack for friendly, customer-centric service, Jackie is happy to help with all types of residential and land transactions.
Although she has held her real estate license since 2005, Jackie began her professional career as a nurse. For more than 12 years, she used her skills to serve in area hospitals. Jackie has worked in pediatrics, labor and delivery, and lactation consulting.
In 2005, she obtained her real estate license as a way to diversify her career. However, she soon attracted so much business that it came time to choose between a nursing career or one in real estate.
“I feel that if you are going to do something well, you should devote your entire energy to it,” Jackie said.
In 2007, she delved full-time into real estate sales and quickly became a broker/associate. For the next 12 years, Jackie worked alongside her father in law, John Phillips, at The Phillips Group Real Estate.
“It was a wonderful partnership and we worked very well together,” Jackie said. “The business has been steadily growing for many years.”
Then, in 2019, John decided that after a long and fruitful career, retirement sounded good.
“When he decided he was going to retire, I knew I needed to do something different – I couldn’t do it all by myself,” Jackie said.
In addition, several REALTORS® had expressed interest in joining Jackie at her brokerage. Jackie knew that continued growth would require partnering with a franchise.
“It was around that time that I saw NextHome featured in REALTOR® Magazine,” Jackie recalled. “We did a lot of research, but in the end, I was really impressed by NextHome’s humans over houses philosophy.”
With her background in nursing, Jackie is passionate about putting people first.
“Being a nurse teaches you so much about how to connect with people and to really listen,” Jackie said. “What NextHome stands for is exactly who I am. Taking care of people has always been important to me, that’s why I became a nurse in the first place. NextHome’s ‘Humans Over Houses’ approach really complemented what I was already doing with my business.”
In addition, NextHome’s suite of interconnected tools and plug-and-play marketing was the perfect fit for Jackie who wanted to focus on her agents and clients.
Today, Jackie and the team at NextHome Corridor are bringing a new level of integrity and compassion to Williamsburg real estate.
“I enjoy helping our clients through the process, wherever they are at,” Jackie said. “We really work as a team here and are always helping each other out. It’s important to me that our agents feel confident and valued and they can provide good service to their clients because of what I provide as a broker.”
Jackie is celebrating 27 years of marriage to her husband Brian and together they have three children; Alex (24), Lyndie (22), and Ellie (17).
When she isn’t helping her clients, her agents or the community, Jackie enjoys going to church and to lunch with her family and traveling internationally.
