Pleasanton, CA— May 12, 2017 NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Coastal Realty. The new brokerage is the 28th NextHome franchise location opened in the state of Florida.

Based out of New Port Richey, NextHome Coastal Realty will be owned and operated by Dawn Walls. The brokerage will service the cities of New Port Richey, Port Richey, Spring Hill, Hudson, Trinity and the remainder of Pasco County.

New Port Richey is located 30 miles Northwest of the City of Tampa and is home to nearly 15,000 residents. The west side of the city borders the Gulf of Mexico and is a coastal community that attracts visitors from all over the world.

The brokerage will provide sales services for residential properties including foreclosures, property management, first-time buyers, move-up buyers, vacation homes, and investment properties.

Licensed since 2006, Walls started her real estate career assisting her brother-in-law with buying and selling properties. She helped evaluate properties for the acquisition and rehab for resale.

After years learning the business and assisting in the flipping of homes, she joined a national real estate franchised brokerage and handled the rehabilitation and construction of rental properties for the company in 2010.

In 2013, she was promoted to head the REO (foreclosure) division. As the director for the department, Walls oversaw 14 agents. She assisted them with compliance and developing new listing opportunities for these agents.

With her hard work evident, the leadership promoted Walls once again and she moved to the Director of Corporate Services. She was in charge of systematizing the department, overseeing broker related issues, and creating efficiency in the company.

Walls enjoyed helping agents and in 2016 wanted to move away from being behind a desk. She desired to work in a more active leadership role and on the front lines with agents.

Her current company did not provide that opportunity. Therefore, Walls took the leap in early 2017 and left to open her own brokerage.

“Before I left the company, I was asked by ownership to find out why many of the agents had left the brokerage the year before,” recalls Walls. “After talking with agent after agent who had left the company, it was evident there was an opportunity to open a brokerage who would help agents that wanted assistance in building their business.”

Walls found NextHome through a simple Google search and loved what she saw.

“The technology that NextHome provides was something completely different than the company I just left,” said Walls. “NextHome Coastal Realty will be a refreshing option for agents in our local market.”

While she will be running her brokerage day-to-day, Walls stays connected in helping her community.

She is very involved in the local Runaway Alternative Project (RAP), which helps minors during a time when they are in transition between foster families or just in need of food, shelter, and counseling after running away from a destructive or abusive family environment.

In July 2017, Walls will marry her fiancée, Kevin Beattie. The couple will have a combined family of seven children from the ages of 11 to 31 years old. Walls jokingly describes her family as the “real life Brady Bunch.”

Please join us in welcoming Dawn and the rest of her team at NextHome Coastal Realty for the opening of their new NextHome office!
