Pleasanton, CA— April 14, 2017 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Prestige Properties. This new brokerage is the 23rd location opened by the NextHome franchise in the state of Florida.
The office will be based in Fort Lauderdale and will service the communities of Fort Lauderdale, Sunny Isles, Plantation, Aventura, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and the remainder of Broward and Miami counties.
NextHome Prestige Properties will be owned and operated by business partners, C.J. Maier and Serge Van Duuren. The brokerage will provide sales services for residential, commercial, luxury, investment properties, vacation homes, and first time home buyer opportunities.
Both business partners bring vast amounts of real estate experience to the brokerage and will handle specific roles within the company. Maier will head up the Sales Division and will be the Managing Broker, while Van Duuren will oversee the company’s development projects and handle the day-to-day operation. Maier’s wife of 13 years, Debbie, will also help in sales, as well as assist the partners with operations management.
Maier has been licensed since 2000 and has specialized in commercial real estate sales in addition to leasing and project management on developments. Van Duuren has been a seasoned real estate investor and developer, both nationally and internationally, for more than a decade.
Maier first met Van Duuren in 2008 during the sale and development of a real estate project. Van Duuren and his family purchased a 100-unit project that the previous owner was unable to complete.
With the United States’ financial crisis becoming a huge problem for many, Van Duuren took advantage of the market and purchased properties during a time other investors were selling of their assets.
Shortly after meeting each other, Maier took over the property management of these units and helped Van Duuren convert the underperforming property into a successfully converted, fully leased building.
As their business grew, the partners found themselves wanting to open their own brokerage to handle new investments that were coming in.
“We knew there was an opportunity to come into a market with our new brokerage and make a difference,” said Maier. “We wanted to provide a service level that was different than other local brokerages offered.”
“As we became involved in more projects, it just made sense for us to own our own real estate brokerage,” added Van Duuren.
In 2013, Maier and Van Duuren opened Willow International Realty. Shortly after opening the brokerage, they began working on Green Cay Village – a development project with over 100 units.
After three very successful years running the company, both Van Duuren and Maier knew it was time to add additional tools and technology and take the brokerage to the next level.

When not selling real estate, the Maiers spend time with their two daughters, Julia (age 12) and Hayley (10). With both daughters involved in sports, the Maiers stay busy helping their children with their gymnastics and high diving activities.
Van Duuren and his fiancée, Rebecca, enjoy traveling, playing golf, and visiting his native country of the Netherlands.
