Pleasanton, CA— October 20, 2015 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome 5280 Realty Group. This is the franchise’s 1st brokerage in the state of Colorado.
Owned and operated by broker/owner, Merlin Parker, the Denver-based brokerage will provide residential real estate sales services to the entire Denver Metro area including Cherry Creek, City Park West, the Highlands, Congress Park, and Washington Park. The brokerage will also service outlying communities to the Denver area such as Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Golden and Littleton.
Coming from a background of interior design, Parker brings a keen eye to the real estate sales process. As a former owner of his own high-end retail furniture store, his knowledge and consultation provides an additional benefit for his real estate clientele.
Opening his business in 2002, Parker was the owner and operator of a Mid-Century Modern furnishing company called Room. In addition to the furniture Parker provided, he would also consult his clients on how to best stage their home if they were interested in putting their home on the market. This led to him consulting for custom high-end homebuilders throughout the US.
Seeing his ideas play out successfully in the sales process, Parker decided to make the jump into real estate residential rehab and resale.
Parker made the decision in 2005 to sell his store and focus full time in real estate. Not only was he rehabbing and flipping homes, Parker also attained his real estate license later that year.
Parker decided early on that an independent brokerage with ample training was the best fit for him to start his career. Over the next 10 years, Parker was able to create an exceptional business selling over 30 homes annually.
In early 2015, the brokerage Parker worked for merged with another real estate company. It was at this time he thought about owning his own brokerage. After discussions with his family, Parker began exploring his options and how he could start his own brokerage.
After a decade of working in the Denver real estate market, Parker knew there was a great opportunity for someone to bring a new, fresh company that focused on technology and client services for today’s real estate consumer. With a simple Google search of “National Real Estate Franchise”, Parker found NextHome.
“After spending time researching the NextHome franchise, I realized that the company’s mindset and customer service commitment lined up perfectly with the way I handle my business,” said Parker. “Of all the companies I researched, NextHome was the only one that resonated with me.”
The name NextHome 5280 Realty Group was chosen due to the actual official elevation of the Denver area being 5,280 feet.
“In getting to know Merlin and the way he runs his business, it became clear early on that he was a perfect fit as a NextHome brokerage owner,” said NextHome’s Vice President of Sales Charis Moreno. “His passion for real estate coupled with his incredible business savvy make him a huge addition to the NextHome franchise. When not selling real estate, Merlin enjoys spending time with his husband, Jeff and their Miniature Schnauzer, Agnes. They enjoy traveling throughout their state and spending time savoring all that Colorado has to offer.
