Pleasanton, CA — June 24, 2025 — An integral part of our brand identity and culture, NextHome wouldn’t be the same without our beloved mascot Luke. In honor of his birthday, we have declared June 15th our company’s annual day of community service and outreach – Luke Day. We use this day as an opportunity to step away from our business and come together to serve our local areas and the people and pets that thrive there.
Luke Day 2025 was filled with amazing events organized by NextHome offices across the nation. Events ranged from volunteering at food banks and supporting local animal shelters to raising donations for our national charity partner, Canine Companions.
Here are just a few examples of how NextHome members rolled up their sleeves to support their neighbors, friends, communities, and pets from coast to coast:
- NextHome Centurion Realty in San Angelo, TX, hosted an adoption and free microchipping event alongside a local animal rescue.
- NextHome South Pointe in Saint Petersburg, FL, spent the day making sandwiches and packing healthy lunch bags, sorting clothing donations, and helping out the pantry for a local non-profit organization.
- NextHome Valley Properties in Grand Junction, CO, collected donations for their local humane center for kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs.
- NextHome NTX Real Estate teamed up with NextMortgage and Canine Companions in Fort Worth, TX, to host a fun-filled day featuring a silent auction and raffle to support our national charity partner.
- NextHome Dogwood in Winston-Salem, NC, spent the day at their local Ronald McDonald House helping refresh the home and assembling bagged lunches to support the families staying there.
- NextHome Local Realty Group in Conway, AR, hosted a fundraising raffle for handcrafted door wreaths in support of Canine Companions and Life Choices in their local community.
- NextHome Endless Summer in Jacksonville, FL, hosted a Dine & Donate event with a giant hot dog bar and the Big Red Bus for blood donations.
- NextHome Simplicity in Biloxi, MS, partnered with their local Humane Society for a donation drive and adoption event.
In Northern California, the NextHome corporate team was elbow-deep in dirt and vegetables at a local community garden. The team harvested 620+ lbs of onions and 440+ lbs of shallots that were delivered to local food pantries, along with prepping beds with 4,500+ lbs of compost for planting more crops.
Additionally, proceeds from Luke Day apparel purchases by our members have raised over $2,000 for Canine Companions, our national charity partner. This support will go a long way in aiding their mission to provide service dogs to people struggling with disabilities. A special thanks to o21Swag.com for creating the Luke Day collection.
