Pleasanton, CA – February 9, 2018- NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome City To City. The brokerage represents the seventh location opened in the state of Arizona for the NextHome franchise.

Based in Scottsdale, the company will be owned and operated by long time real estate veteran Gary May. NextHome City To City will provide real estate services such as single family residential sales, first-time home buyers, multi-family properties, investment sales, land sales, and second home and vacation properties to the areas of Scottsdale, Rio Verde, Mesa, Chandler, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, and the remainder of Maricopa County.

Originally from Chicago, May moved to the Scottsdale area in 1977. Leaving a successful career in financial services with Merrill Lynch, he moved to the real estate side after five years at the company.

Getting his real estate license over 30 years ago, he started building his business in the traditional fashion – via door knocking. He established a niche in a local neighborhood in Scottsdale, selling nearly 50 houses in a 200-unit subdivision over the course of four years.

May has been in all facets of real estate including contractor work with new home builders, investment and rehabbing flip properties.

In 2008, he built a brokerage under the Real Living franchise brand with 20 agents. Unfortunately, the market turned due to the recession shortly after. While the real estate market may have hit a difficult time, May looked at it being a time of opportunity.

May pivoted and changed his business strategy. Working with banks in selling foreclosed properties, May sold in excess of 100 transactions annually while many agents were getting out the business due to their inability to sell homes.
Running a successful brokerage as a Real Living franchisee for ten years, May was looking for a new franchise to affiliate with. As the last Real Living franchise in the state of Arizona, he was looking for a company that had a great technology platform and flexible compensation model for his agents.

May found the NextHome brand through a former Real Living franchisee who made the move to NextHome. Ann Banos joined the NextHome franchise in 2016 when she opened NextHome ATX Realty in Austin, Texas. She had kept in touch with May and shared how happy she was about making her move to NextHome.

After researching the company, May loved the franchise concept and signed with NextHome in November of 2017.
May has been married to his wife Cindy for 34 years and the couple have a son, Grant (21 years old), who is a junior at University of Arizona. The couple like to travel to snow destinations such as Park City, Utah to ski and enjoy the outdoors.

Please join us in congratulating Gary and the rest of the team at NextHome City To City on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in Scottsdale, AZ!

Pleasanton, CA — February 6, 2018— NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Alliance. The brokerage represents the sixth location opened in the state of Arizona for the NextHome franchise.

Based in Queen Creek, the company will be owned and operated by business partners Chris Benson and Scott Baglien. NextHome Alliance will provide real estate services such as single family residential sales, first-time home buyers, multi-family properties, investment sales, veteran and military relocation services, and second home and vacation properties to the areas of Queen Creek, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Apache Junction, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and the remainder of Maricopa and Pinal Counties.

Queen Creek is a suburb city that lies southeast of the city of Mesa, with a population of just over 35,000 residents.

Benson started his real estate sales career in 2003 after nearly a decade of working in default servicing with Citi Financial Mortgage. Working in the REO division, Benson was well versed in helping close short sales and foreclosures for the bank. Not only did he process short sales, he often ended up coaching real estate agents on how to complete the forms and sell homes that were in distress.

Seeing an opportunity to work on the sales side of the business, Benson became a REALTOR® with Desert 2 Mountain Realty. Putting his skills from the previous company to use, Benson quickly rose to the ranks of the top producers in his area.

When the market turned in 2007, Benson’s REO and short sales experience was more useful than ever.

When the distressed market for properties switched back to a more traditional market in 2012, Benson and a team of business partners opened their own brokerage – Estate Realty.

In 2014, Baglien joined Estate Realty after a 25-year career in restaurant management with companies such as TGI Friday’s and Applebee’s. Looking for a career that would allow more traditional hours, Baglien wanted to have a schedule that didn’t take such a toll.

“Being a General Manager for a restaurant requires nights that end sometimes as late as 2am, followed up by a morning that starts really early,” recalled Baglien. “As a father and a husband, I wanted to be there more for my family than the restaurant industry allowed.”

Baglien dove right into the business and Benson took notice. The two started working together in 2015 when Baglien assisted Benson on several transactions as a coordinator. Without formally creating a team, the two men worked together over the course of the next two years on most transactions.

In 2017, Benson felt it was time to go out on his own and open his own brokerage. After watching the NextHome franchise over the previous three years, Benson approached Baglien about opening a brokerage with him.

“Seeing how the NextHome franchise grew not only just here in Arizona, but across the nation, it made a lot of sense for us to open our brokerage under the NextHome brand,” said Benson.

In 2017, the partners sold nearly 50 transactions and over $17 million in sales volume.

When not selling real estate, Benson and Baglien are heavily involved with their church and their families.

Benson has been married to his wife Shauna for 20 years. The couple have three daughters – Kacie, Brooklyn, and Brea. Kacie is married and is expecting her first child in April 2018. Brooklyn is a high school senior who will be attending Arizona State University and the Water Cronkite School of Broadcasting. Brea is a high school sophomore and is involved in cheerleading and modeling.

Baglien has been married to his wife Cory for nine years and the couple have a blended family of five children. Baglien is involved in youth hockey coaching for both grade school and high school players.

Please join us in congratulating Chris, Scott, and the rest of the team at NextHome Alliance on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in Queen Creek, AZ!

Clare & Scott LeForce

Pleasanton, CA — November 7, 2017 NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Modern Market. This new brokerage represents the fifth office location opened in Arizona by the NextHome franchise.

The Scottsdale area-based brokerage will be owned and operated by Scott and Clare LeForce. Clare will head up the entire sales division for the brokerage, while Scott will handle all marketing for the company and the day-to-day operations of the company.

NextHome Modern Market will service the cities of Scottsdale, Carefree, Cave Creek, and the remainder of the Phoenix metropolitan area – which is home to nearly 1.7 million residents. The company will provide many different residential services for both buyers and sellers such as first-time home buyers, investor purchases, move-up buyers, luxury sales, land sales, and multi-family properties.

This is the first of three NextHome offices opened by the LeForces. Two more upcoming locations will be announced in the Northern California area.

Scottsdale is located 30 minutes east of Phoenix and home to approximately 250,000 residents. With over 7.5 million people coming to visit the Scottsdale area annually, the city ranks as one of the most popular travel destinations in the Southwest United States.

Starting her real estate career in the mortgage industry in 1989, Clare worked for Western Colonial Mortgage. Over the next five years, she grew her business to be one of the top loan officers in the area. Although successful, Clare found herself wanting to move to the sales side of the business to align with her passion of helping people purchase the home.

“One of the best things I could have ever done for my career was to have started in mortgage first,” recalls Clare. “Having the full understanding of the finance side of the business really allowed me to have a significant advantage when it came to helping buyers understand the full process of purchasing a home.”

In 1995, Clare started as a REALTOR® with Realty World – Corral Hollow in Tracy, CA. She built a business that grew to the point where she needed more than just herself to handle the volume.

She started her team, The C.A.R.E. Team, which sold more than $25 million annually. Clare was recognized as one of the top selling REALTORS® in the entire San Joaquin Valley.

“Our team worked extremely hard to help as many families as possible,” recalls Clare. “I could not have done it without their help and dedication.”

In 2001, Clare opened her own brokerage, Realty World – Providence based out of Tracy, CA. In addition to traditional sales, she built relationships with various national banks who needed help selling their foreclosed properties.

With the San Joaquin Valley being one of the hardest hit areas of the nation during the recession of 2007 – 2011, Clare and her team sold more than 100 homes annually during that period.

“It was very difficult to see so many of our residents being displaced at that time,” said Clare. “But it also did allow many first-time home buyers to purchase properties at an affordable price. Many of these buyers we helped during those years are still homeowners today.”

In 2009, Clare and Scott expanded to a second location in Discovery Bay, CA to service the Contra Costa County area, as well.

After 15 years in the Central Valley of California, Scott and Clare relocated to Scottsdale in 2016. Continuing to own and run their business in California, the ability to open an office in Scottsdale was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

“When Scott and I decided where we wanted to relocate to, we wanted a place that fit our lifestyle,” said Clare. “With the great weather, the community culture, proximity to an international airport, and so many things to do in Scottsdale, it was an easy choice.”

“When we moved here, it made so much sense for me to continue to sell real estate – especially in an area we have fallen in love with. Real estate is in my blood and I just love helping people find their perfect place to live,” added Clare.

Please join us in welcoming Scott, Clare, and the rest of the team at NextHome Modern Market to the NextHome family!

Jim Snodgrass and Maria Serino

Pleasanton, CA— August 18, 2017  NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Complete Realty. The brokerage is the fourth NextHome franchised location in the state of Arizona. The company will be owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Jim Snodgrass and Maria Serino.

Based in Sahuarita, NextHome Complete Realty will provide real estate services such as single family residential sales, commercial, and property management to the cities of Sahuarita, Tucson, Nogales, Rio Rico, Green Valley, Vail, Oro Valley, and Marana.

Located ten miles south of Tucson, Sahurita is home to approximately 25,000 residents.

Snodgrass’ first connection to real estate came when he found himself as a lead generator for a friend.

“My friend was a REALTOR® and I was sending them a lot of referrals from people I knew who were interested in buying and selling a home,” recalls Snodgrass. “With as many leads I was providing, I thought it made sense to get my real estate license and work in real estate myself.”

Starting his real estate career in 2005, Snodgrass saw immediate success as a REALTOR®. His background of business development in the medical field proved valuable and he quickly built his business. It was going so well that Serino joined him just a year later to become a two-person team to handle clients.

With 12 years at Tierra Antigua Real Estate, the couple was consistently at the top of the local sales rankings. They would often close more than 100 transactions annually.

After more than a decade of working for another broker, Snodgrass and Serino felt it was the right time to open their own brokerage. With a degree in marketing and brand management, Snodgrass wanted to start a real estate company that had a focus on consistent, clean branding and had the flexibility to adapt to a changing market.

“Maria and I were able to keep our business steady through the downturn of the economy by being proactive with our model and adapting to the shift,” said Snodgrass. “By moving to short sale listings, we were able to not only stay consistent with our business, but become a resource for those in our community who needed it during a difficult time.”

After finding out about NextHome, the couple called several NextHome franchisees to see how they felt about being involved with a relatively newer franchise brand.

“Just speaking to the several NextHome brokers over the phone, I could tell they felt connected to the company,” said Snodgrass. “That comfortability to tell us what they honestly felt about NextHome and how happy they were, let us know that this was the company for us.”

When not selling real estate, the couple of 16 years enjoy traveling and spending time with their two children, Antonio (age 14) and Angelina (age 12).

Please join us in congratulating Jim, Maria, and the rest of the team at NextHome Complete Realty on opening their brand new NextHome office!

Linda Chafey

Pleasanton, CA— February 17, 2017 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the NextHome franchise – NextHome Source. This represents the 3rd NextHome office location in the state of Arizona.

Based out of Gilbert, the brokerage will be owned and operated by real estate broker, Linda Chafey. NextHome Source will serve the needs of residents in Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Mesa, Tempe and the Phoenix metro area. The brokerage will provide services such as residential real estate sales, investment properties, luxury homes, and first time home buyers.

The city of Gilbert is located 20 miles east of Phoenix and is home to approximately 210,000 residents.

Chafey spent over a decade in education as a grade school teacher, but had been exposed to the real estate industry for many years. Her husband, Rick, is a general contractor and custom home builder for Red Rock Contractors.

Chafey made the jump to real estate in 2010 and saw her business steadily grow year-over-year. First starting with a regional independent real estate company, Chafey’s sales numbers had her thinking about expanding and opening her own brokerage.

“I really enjoyed my years as a teacher,” said Chafey. “As I built my own personal real estate business, I still had a passion to teach and help others, so I decided to go out on my own and start my own brokerage.”

In 2013, Chafey started Southwest Image Realty, where the focus was building a business with career-oriented REALTORS® who valued accountability and had a commitment to education and improvement.

Naturally, Chafey wanted to lead by example. She is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI) and is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR). These National Association of REALTORS® designations show Chafey’s commitment to her agents that education is key in any successful business.

This level of commitment has grown Chafey’s business to where over 90% comes from referral and repeat business.

In 2016, Chafey looked to increase the value of her brokerage to both her agents and her clients.

“I first found NextHome through a REALTOR® Magazine advertisement,” recalls Chafey. “I wasn’t originally looking to make a change, but I did want to increase the technology and service from our brokerage to our clients.”

“NextHome had everything I was looking for,” added Chafey. “Change can be tough, but innovating in an evolving market is critical for our clients.”

In addition to real estate, Chafey also volunteers a significant amount of time to community service.

She is a member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of the community serviced-based Gilbert Leadership Program.

When not selling real estate, Chafey is all about family. Her and Rick have four children – Tommy (age 21), Brendan (19), Ryan (18) and Allison (16). The Chafey Family love to go hiking, travel, and get on the boat for some wakeboarding on Saguaro Lake.

Please join us in welcoming Linda, and the rest of her team at NextHome Source for the opening of their brand new NextHome brokerage!
