NextHome expands in Alabama with NextHome Limitless Realty

Pleasanton, CA — January 16, 2019 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Limitless Realty. The brokerage represents the fourth office location opened in the state of Alabama for the NextHome franchise.

The company will be led by broker/owner Stacey Smith and she will handle all day-to-day operations of the five-agent company.

Located equal distance between Huntsville and Birmingham, the Cullman-based brokerage will focus on helping clients throughout Cullman County including the cities of Cullman, Vinemont, Decatur, Falkville, Hartselle, Holly Pond, Fairview, Addison, West Point, Bremen, Crane Hill, and Smith Lake.

NextHome Limitless Realty will handle all types of residential property sales such as first-time home buyers, investors, farms and land, military and veterans assistance and all forms of residential sales of 1-4 units.

Before leaving in 2015 to sell real estate, Stacey taught for five years in the local county school system.

Although she was starting as a REALTOR®, Stacey had spent more than 20 years fixing and flipping real estate properties with her husband of 25 years, Jonathan. Building a successful investment property business, it was a friend who was a real estate broker who finally convinced Stacey to become an agent.

Stacey chose to start at MarMac Real Estate in Decatur, AL. In her first two years, Stacey built a strong business model that reached multi-million dollar sales volume annually – even more impressive with average home sales price under $150,000.

In 2017, Stacey moved to New Beginnings Real Estate in Cullman, AL where she incorporated more technology into her business. This development of her business saw her reach new heights. In 2018, Stacey sold 45 transactions for $5.7 million in sales volume.

Although she was happy with her sales, it was a connection with an agent on the other side of a transaction that sparked her interest in opening her own brokerage.

“I was able to meet Sharon McMichael when she represented a client on the other side of the transaction with me,” said Stacey. “As the co-owner of NextHome Southern Realty, I was able to research and find out more about what NextHome could offer. With my interest in providing more technology to my clients, it made sense to partner with NextHome when I opened my own company.”

When Stacey opened the doors of NextHome Limitless Realty, she reinforced her commitment to holding a high standard of agents at her brokerage and made sure they represented professionalism within their community.

“We want agents to know that if they are looking for a company that embraces technology and encourages constant education, NextHome Limitless Realty is a company to consider,” said Stacey.

Stacey not only gives to her agents and clients, but to her local community as well. Her volunteer work includes volunteering at Temple Baptist Church where she donates time serving at the church’s coffee shop, Common Grounds. The shop raises money to provide funds for church missions. Stacey has been on missions herself, with visits overseas in the Philippines. Stacey is planning another mission in 2019 to Israel.

When not selling real estate, Stacey enjoys playing on her local softball team. She is an avid reader and tries to go fishing as much as possible.

Stacey and Jonathan have two children – Savannah (age 23) and Maverick (20).

Savannah is an author with her book Limitless, a 60-day devotional. She is currently working on a children’s book which will be published soon. Maverick is the owner of a bulldozer and construction company.

Pleasanton, CA— May 25, 2017 NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Star Real Estate. The new brokerage is the second NextHome franchised location opened in the state of Alabama.

Based out of the city of Mobile, NextHome Star Real Estate will be owned and operated by top producing REALTOR® Shabbir Hossain . The brokerage will service the cities of Mobile, Semmes, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Fairhope, Wilmer, and the remainder of Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

The brokerage will serve clients with residential real estate services such as investment properties, move-up properties, first-time home buyers, lot purchases, as well as commercial properties.

Licensed since 2007, Hossain started his real estate career after many years in the engineering industry working at AT&T. He began his career with a national franchised brokerage location in Mobile.

Coming into real estate during the worst real estate markets in history, Hossain took a learn-to-earn approach to his career. Even though he came into the business while many agents were leaving, he persevered and steadily sold more homes year over year.

Pleasanton, CA— November 22, 2016 NextHome is proud to announce our newest office, NextHome Southern Realty. The brokerage represents the second NextHome franchisee in the state of Alabama.

The Birmingham-based brokerage will be owned and operated by two married couples – real estate veterans, Jean & Ben Burford and Sharon & Randy McMichael. The brokerage will provide residential real estate sales, land sales, new construction, and investment property sales services to the cities of Birmingham, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Hoover, Trussville, Helena, and the remainder of Shelby and Jefferson Counties.

First meeting eight years ago through church, Jean and Sharon have built a very strong friendship. They participated in church activities together, community events and eventually… starting their real estate careers around the same time.

In 2009, both women started their real estate career at Realty South – Over the Mountain Alford. Although they worked as separate agents rather than a team, they both helped push each other to succeed during one of the most difficult times in real estate history.

While they were excited about their new venture in real estate, the entire United States economy was experiencing a freefall of historic proportions.

Jean learned all she could about the foreclosure and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Home programs. Many properties were being taken back by the bank because of the homeowner’s inability to pay the mortgage. As a graduate of the University of Alabama who majored in real estate, Jean did not take her career lightly.

“I remember taking every lead, every phone call, every floor desk opportunity and making the most of it,” said Jean. “Before real estate, I was in the insurance industry. That’s where I learned the importance of lead follow up. It became the foundation of my real estate business too.”

Jean began her yearly streak as being one of the top producers in the entire area, being named as one of Realty South’s most productive agents annually.

After spending 15 years as a physical education teacher, Sharon made the transition to real estate. She credits her success in real estate to her skills she learned and used as a teacher.

“Being a school teacher requires helping students understand teamwork, leadership, and great communication,” said Sharon. “Those skills translate very well into real estate and providing great service to clients.”

Combined, Jean and Sharon sell more than $10 million in sales volume annually in an area where the average sales price is $225,000.

In 2013, Jean’s husband, Ben, came onboard the team to help with her sales. Ben took the lead on all things marketing, property information distribution, and advertising.

In early 2016, their brokerage was going through a leadership change. During that transition, Jean and Sharon realized it was the perfect opportunity to see what other options they could pursue together. Naturally, the thought of owning their own brokerage was the most appealing option.

“The four of us together makes so much sense when it came to owning a business,” said Sharon. “We have all known each other for so long, we understand what each one of us are capable of contributing to make us successful.”

“With Jean and I in real estate sales, Ben and his extensive marketing background, and Randy with his many years in the construction and building industry, we think we have the team that can lead a really dynamic brokerage,” added Sharon.

In doing her research, Jean found a real estate franchise that fit exactly what she had been looking for in a company. She was excited to share the news with Sharon, but put a spin on the unveiling.

“I told Sharon that I had found the right company to franchise with,” recalls Jean. “But instead of just telling her what company it was, I asked her to do research on her own and tell me who it was. After a day of researching it, Sharon called me and said ‘I know who it is. It’s NextHome, isn’t it?’”

The leadership team at NextHome Southern Realty have made a commitment to making the real estate transaction an enjoyable experience. With great follow up and follow through, their team remains committed to delivering on their promises.

When not selling real estate, the Burfords enjoy traveling, cooking, watching movies, playing bridge, and spending time with family and friends. The married couple of 39 years have two children and a grandson – one-year-old Charlie.

The McMichaels have one daughter, Christie, and are grandparents to Michael (age 6) and Emily (3). The couple of 40 years enjoy doing anything outdoors, as well as spending time with their family.

Kelvin MitchellNextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the NextHome franchise and our first office in the state of Alabama – NextHome Kel Mitchell.

Owned and operated by broker Kelvin Mitchell, this Huntsville, AL based brokerage is dedicated to serving the needs of clients in Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Hampton Cove, Meridianville, and all of northern Alabama.

Mitchell, a 2009 graduate of Auburn University, started his real estate career while he was still attending college.

“While I attended classes as a full time student, I spent my weekends and evenings helping clients find their next home,” said Mitchell. “I was able to sell four houses during my junior year of college and just fell in love with the sales process.”

In 2009, Mitchell sold 25 transactions in his first full year in real estate – making him one of the top producers at his local brokerage. With the amount of leads he was creating, it eventually made sense for him to go out on his own. In 2012, Mitchell became a real estate broker and started the process of developing his own brand and brokerage.

NextHome Kel Mitchell is a 2,400 square foot brokerage located in the heart of Downtown Huntsville. Primarily focused on residential sales, Mitchell attributes much of his company’s success to a business author that he looks up to – Dave Ramsey.
