Growing up in the small town of Ashland and the farming communities of Montpelier and Beaverdam, I was taught the value of family, community, and hard work. I was blessed to study at Virginia Tech, VCU, and the University of Virginia. Being born, raised, and educated in Virginia instilled a passion for the people, history, climate, and geography of Virginia.
My work as a Real Estate Appraiser for the Dept. of Taxation took me all over the state in the 70’s from the coast to the mountains. My wife and I chose the waterfront community of Gloucester to raise our family over 40 years ago. Since then, I have spent time as a Parks and Rec. and BayStars coach, completed community service thru the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. I enjoy my time as a leader, teacher, and Deacon at Newington Baptist Church and have established lasting friends and relationships in this community and surrounding area
