As a rookie cop in 1985 I started a gym with another cop. I’ve played sports through college and enjoyed weight training. Owning a gym consumed most of my off time, and in the 1980’s it was more unlikely than likely to build wealth in the gym business. My goal was to be independently wealthy. My partner and I sold the gym in 1989 and started my real estate venture – receiving my license in early 1990. Even as a police officer working a dual career, I produced at a high level in real estate becoming the number one agent in the number one office in Manassas, REMAX Olympic Realty 1997,1998, and 1999. After 14 years with the Manassas City Police Department, I resigned in 1999 to focus solely on my real estate career. In 1999 a couple partners and I opened our own Brokerage – Cowne, Odend’hal, and Plaster. By 2003 I was celebrated in Realtor magazine as one of the top 50 agents in the nation. I was #41 with a production of $28+ million doing 133 transactions that year with one unlicensed assistant. In 2004 we sold our brokerage to Long and Foster and I remained with the company as an agent selling at a high level until becoming a broker manager. At that point in my career, I wanted to change lives hoping I could assist all agents in my offices to perform at a high level utilizing the sales system I created. Over the past 6 years, in addition to my leadership role, I taught in-person real estate investment seminars across the Long and Foster footprint, from New Jersey to Raleigh, North Carolina to more than 2000 agents. My passion is helping folks become wealthy owning real estate as income producing assets.
