It can be very difficult to find a realtor, there are so many factors to consider: will they be patient, will they have my best interest in mind, will they help me search, will they understand my wants, ect. Then there are the internal concerns: this is going to be my home, this is a lot of money, my spouse and I have different wants, ect. I think it is pretty rare to find someone who not only understands all of these, but also KEEPS UP with all of these and Emily is that person who can and does. In choosing NextHome and Emily we had a realtor and friend the whole time we looked at houses, she called to check in, called to see how we were feeling, called to reassure that the house would come, drove out FAR to houses, brought her colleagues who were amazing as well. Emily loves her job, loves people and loves the process. She never gave up when I felt like giving up and was with us every step of the way.

Emily is the third realtor I?ve had the pleasure of working with, she has by far been the best!! She was straight forward with us about our wish list in a new home if it was or was not going to be in our price range. Once we set our price range she stuck with it. She was very professional when showing us homes. She had done her research and when showing homes so if we had any questions she was able to answer. My husband and I were looking to buy our first home. After ?working with? one real estate agent in town and his finance guy, I called Emily because of some promising reviews she had. In the pre-approval process (that we had been in for over THREE WEEKS), The other agent I was trying to work with wasn?t returning calls, texts or emails. Neither was his finance person. So at 8 PM on a weekday, Emily returned a phone call from me in which I was begging for help in the process. She asked me what was going on and spoke to me for over an hour and answered every ?dumb? question I had. (Remember, this was my first time trying to buy a home!) Emily and her finance person met me at 530 pm, after the bank had closed, the next night after I got off work. They immediately started sending emails to VA approval officers, answering my questions and starting the pre-approval process. Emily ?held my hand? every step of the way. She texted me frequently with updates and even just to remind me to ?breath? during this emotional process.
Unfortunately, we didn?t end up purchasing a home. However, if we decide to in the future, she is DEFINITELY the person I?d go to. I?d recommend her to every home buyer, especially the new ones! Some of the bigger agents (like our first one) treat you like just another client. Emily treated us like family and genuinely cared about our emotions and finding a home that we could grow our family in. I never felt like ?just another client?. Even after we decided not to get a home, she went above and beyond by trying to get us in contact with the rental department at River VAlley so we could get my toddler out of our little apartment. I can honestly say I?m so grateful for my experience with Emily. ??

Emily was a phenomenal realtor to work with. I first contacted her about a year ago to discuss what exactly it was that I was looking for in a house. During this discussion, she both respected my ideas of what I thought I wanted in a house, and also respectfully suggested things that she thought might better suit what I thought I was looking for due to my inexperience with houses. I wasn't in a huge rush to find a house, so I was very focused on finding the house that met all of the things I wanted.
