Pleasanton, CA— May 10, 2016 — NextHome is proud to announce our latest addition to the franchise, NextHome Legacy Group. The brokerage represents the first NextHome franchise in the state of Indiana.

Owned and operated by local, top-producing REALTOR®, Jason Wuertley, the Marion-based brokerage will provide residential real estate services to the areas of Marion, Gas City, Upland, Fairmont, Swayzee, Sweetser, Van Buren and the surrounding counties of Wabash, Madison, Huntington, Miami, Howard, Grant and Blackford.

Wuertley started his real estate career shortly after he graduated from Marion’s own Indiana Wesleyan University in 1996. As a second generation REALTOR®, Wuertley was familiar with the industry. His father, Dave, start his real estate career in 1980.

After getting his license, Wuertley joined his father at Goff Real Estate – a local independent brokerage in Marion. Working part-time, he was focused on transitioning away from his then-current job of teaching and into a full time real estate career.

In 2000, Wuertley made that transition to full time and sold 25 homes that year. Expanding his available work hours dramatically changed the dynamic in which he was able to grow his business.

“I still remember being at the office working floor duty, when a call came in that changed my career,” recalls Wuertley. “It was a bank that was looking for someone to help them sell their foreclosed properties. I took the call, listed their properties, and worked hard to create the foundation of my business.”

In August 2000, an opportunity presented itself that Wuertley could not pass up. He purchased Goff Real Estate and has been running the brokerage ever since.

In the first two years under his leadership, Goff Real Estate grew to more than 20 agents. From 2004 until 2007, the brokerage was the #1 office in total sold sales volume for the county.

When the market turned in 2008, the Marion area experienced serious foreclosure activity that threatened the entire region. Major employers and local factories, such as the RCA Company, were closing their doors and causing hundreds of jobs to be lost during one of the most difficult times in recent memory.

Over the next seven years, Wuertley and his agents worked hard to help local residents either remain in their homes or transition them into more affordable housing.

In 2015, knowing that he had to provide more tools and services for his agents in order to properly service the consumers in the area, Wuertley began looking at franchising options to help his brokerage.

“I remember seeing the NextHome franchise featured in an article in Inman News,” recalls Wuertley. “I loved what I saw and knew that it would be the best for my agents, but I wasn’t certain that they would be on board with the brand switch after being Goff Real Estate for so many years. I still made the decision to move forward with NextHome and readied myself to present the brand to the agents.”

After presenting the NextHome concept to his agents, not only were they on board with the change – they fully embraced it knowing they were now positioned to be THE resource for the community when it came to real estate.

When not selling real estate, Wuertley enjoys spending time with his two daughters, Elizabeth (16) and Anna (13). They can often be found doing outdoor activities such as camping or hiking, and you will sometimes find them at Indianapolis Colts football or Indiana Pacers basketball games.
